by any other department of the City except for making excavation in <br />the street. <br />Section 17: Exemption of existing plumberes The provisions of <br />this Ordinance that refer to examination do not apply to any plumbing <br />contractors, commonly known as master plumbers or journeyman now duly <br />registered and qualified under the provisions of any ordinance or <br />plumbing code heretofore in effect. <br />Section 14: Appointment of a board. The Board of Health of said <br />City of South Bend is hereby authorized and empowered to appoint an <br />examining board consisting of one duly licensed plumbing contractor, <br />one qualified and competent licensed journeyman plumber and the plumb. <br />ing inspector of said city, Said Board shall meet at least oncerrfirtg <br />days or oftener if in the judgment of the Secretary of the Board of <br />Health it is deemed advisable, Said examining Board shall hold office <br />during the pleasure of the Board of stealth and until its successor <br />is appointed and qualified. <br />Section 15: Master Plumber defined is: A master Plumber as used <br />In the Ordinance is any person who is engaged in the plumbing business <br />as a contractor doing a general plumbing or drainage business for the <br />general public and who maintains a plumbing shop or store and who may <br />employ journeyman plumbers. <br />Section 16: Fees for Services: That the plumbing contractor, and <br />the journeyman plumber, composing with the plumbing inspector, the <br />examining Board herein created, shall each receive as compensation for <br />services rendered in connection with examination of applications in the <br />plumbing trade either as Piaster Plumbers or Journeyman Plumbers, each <br />the sum of five ($540) dollars from each applicant.( This fee shall be <br />payable as other contractual obligations of the city are now payable* <br />The fee of :Fifteen ($15.00) dollars paid by the applicant at the time <br />of the filing the application for examination shall be deposited by the <br />Board of Health the same as other receipts by said Board are now de. <br />posited with the City Comptrollere <br />Section lfi: License nos:- transferables Any license secured by <br />any journeyman or Piaster Plumber under said ordinance is non-transferable <br />
