ceiling or shall be oeiled over not less than seven (7) feet above the <br />floor, end the space so enclosed shall be ventilated in on approved manner. <br />Section 115: In all buildings the outside partitions of any water <br />closet or urinal apartment shall be solid and extend to the ceiling or be <br />independently oeiled over not less then seven (7) feet above the floor, <br />When necessary to light such apartments the upper part of the partitions <br />may be provided with translucent, not clear glass, The interior partitions`;= <br />of suoh apartments shall be dwerf partitions of not less than 6' o" high* <br />Section 116: Where water closets or other plumbing fixtures are <br />placed under a sidewalk, street,a lley or other like place, adjoining and <br />opening into the basement of any building, each and every fixture so plat- <br />ed shall be ventilated in the same manner as is provided for other plumbing <br />fixtures in this ordinance, and the water closet compartments shall be <br />adequately lighted and ventilated, and the bowls of such olosets must be <br />caulked to the soil pipe or seourely bolted to a cast iron flange, or pro. <br />vided with an approved screw connection* <br />Section 117: All joints and connections prescribed under this ord- <br />finance shall be made gas and watertight, and all wrought iron or mild <br />steel waste pipes shall be properly reamed on the inside, <br />Section 118: Joints in oast iron pipes shall be made with oakum <br />and molten lead, caulked and smoothly faced. <br />Joints in wrought iron pipes shall be "made up" with screw threads <br />having white or red lead or mineral paint applied to the male part of the <br />thread, and shall be screwed up to the shoulder of the fitting. <br />Lead pipes shall be jointed by wiped joints in lead pipe or between <br />pipes and pipes of brass or copper shall have an exposed surfaoe of the <br />solderA esoh side of the joint of at least three - quarters of an.inoh. <br />Connections of lead and iron pipes shall be made by means of a cest <br />lead combination or standard brass ferrule, brass, b4ase soldering nipple <br />or soldering union and wiped joint. <br />The use of cup or drive ferrule is hereby prohil)ited. <br />Section 119: Every building used for retsidenoe, oommeroiai, in- <br />dustrial or public purposes when served with city water must have its own <br />distinct water service pipe not smaller in internal diameter than shown by <br />
