REGULAR MEETING DECEMBER 17.2014 94 <br />Attorney Cory Hamel presented to the Board the final 2015 -2017 Collective Bargaining Agreement <br />for the Board's approval. He noted the Board approved the agreement subject to the final document <br />being presented at today's meeting. Mr. Hamel stated he would like to note that both the Police and <br />Fire negotiations were very productive. He stated he was impressed with the professionalism shown <br />by both parties and he would like to thank everyone. Upon a motion by Mr. Jones, seconded by Mr. <br />Collins, and curried, the agreement was approved and signed. <br />RECOGNIZE FORMER BOARD OF SAFETY ATTORNEY <br />The Board of Safety stood and noted Mr. Hamel's resignation from the City and recognized and <br />thanked Mr. Hamel for every thing he has done for them and the education he has provided to the <br />Board. <br />ADOPT RESOLUTIONNO.57- 2014 — ESTABLISHING THE 2015 HOLIDAY SCHEDULEFOR <br />THE SOUTH BEND FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />Upon amotion by Mr. Taylor, seconded. by Mr. Collins and carried the following resolution was <br />adopted by the Board of Safety setting the 2015 Holiday Schedule for the South Bend Police <br />Department: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 57 -2014 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC SAFETY OF THE CITY OF SOUTH <br />BEND, INDIANA ESTABLISHING THE 2015 HOLIDAY SCHEDULE FOR THE <br />SOUTH BEND FIRE DEPARTMENT <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Public Safety of the City of South Bend, Indiana, is empowered by <br />law to establish rules and regulations for the South Bend Fire Department; and <br />WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City of South Bend that the Fire Department <br />holidays be set with certainty. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Public Safety of the City of <br />South Bend: <br />SECTION I. That all firefighters who work 24 -hour shifts are not entitled to holidays off. <br />SECTION B. That for all firefighters who work 24 -hour shifts, Critical Duty Days are as <br />set forth in Article 25 of the Collective Bargaining Agreement for the year 2015, which is in <br />force in 2015 per Article 33 of the Agreement. <br />SECTION M. That all firefighters who are assigned to work a four or five day work <br />week shall have the following holidays apply: <br />New Year's Day <br />Martin Luther King Day <br />Memorial Day <br />Independence Day <br />Labor Day <br />Veteran's Day <br />Thanksgiving Day <br />Day after Thanksgiving <br />Christmas Day <br />Thursday, January 1, 2015 <br />Monday, January 19, 2015 <br />Monday, May 25, 2015 <br />Friday, July 3, 2015 <br />Monday, September 7, 2015 <br />Wednesday, November 11, 2015 <br />Thursday, November 26, 2015 <br />Friday, November 27, 2015 <br />Friday, December 25, 2015 <br />SECTION 1V.
