As he did that, he saw an <br />opportunity to do for others what he had been <br />doing for the University of Wisconsin. He <br />established a small consulting firm, and <br />within a matter of months was retained by a <br />very large association, the Association of <br />University Technology Managers, a <br />worldwide entity. As a result of this client, <br />he has had contacts and relationships with <br />hundreds of leading research universities and <br />technology driven companies. As a firm, <br />they are now deeply entrenched in this niche <br />of technology transfer and how it is driving <br />our economy in the post industriaUpost <br />manufacturing era of the 21st Century. <br />Mr. Strickler noted that it is a long road to <br />the success South Bend anticipates, but there <br />is no other option. This is the future. <br />The ten writers of the Blue Waters Group <br />have a strong background in medicine, <br />science and technology. They are people <br />who can go nose to nose with the scientists <br />and explain it. <br />Ms. Jones expressed Karl King's sentiments <br />that this effort will not succeed unless we are <br />able to keep the project clear and open to the <br />public the entire process.
