insurance program of the City of South Bend shall be Fifty and 00/100 Dollars ($50.00) per month <br />and for retirees shall be Two Hundred Twenty Seven and 18/ 100 Dollars ($227.18) in plan year 2002 <br />only. <br />Commencing calendar year 2003, the monthly contribution for health insurance coverage for <br />active officers for calendar years 2003 through 2005 shall be as follows: <br />2003 2004 2005 <br />Single $36.00 $38.00 $65.00 <br />Family $95.00 $98.00 $125.00 <br />The monthly contribution for health insurance coverage for retirees for calendar years 2003 <br />through 2005 shall be as follows: <br />2003 2004 2005 <br />Single $58.00* $67.00* $95.00* <br />Family $279.00* $300.00* $335.00* <br />* Retired officers who are not members of the FOP shall pay an additional $50.00 per month. <br />The City shall continue to contribute Five Hundred and 0/100 Dollars ($500.00) to each <br />qualifying officer's and sworn member's individual flexible spending account, each plan year during <br />years 2002 through 2005. <br />O. Personal Days: Each officer and sworn member with more than one (1) full year of <br />service shall receive on January 1 S` of each year, seven (7) days of personal time for use in that year. <br />No sworn member shall receive personal time during his or her first full year of service. Upon the <br />anniversary date of swearing in, each sworn member shall receive personal time to use in the <br />remainder of that calendar year in an amount equal to one (1) day for every fifty (50) calendar days <br />remaining in the year plus one (1) additional day for any fraction remaining, not to exceed a <br />maximum of seven (7) days. Personal days are designed to be used on a "use it or lose it basis" <br />subject to further conditions which maybe established by the Board of Public Safety. Each sworn <br />member shall have the opportunity to earn three (3) additional days of personal time through <br />shooting subject to conditions as may be established by the Board of Public Safety. <br />P. Retirement Sick Leave Buy-Back: For calendar year 2002, the Retirement Sick Leave <br />Buy-Back program shall continue with the number of sick days which have been accumulated in an <br />officer's or sworn member's sick bank being sixty (60) days with the rate of reimbursement being <br />one-half (%2) the hourly rate of the base pay for the rank of Corporal. <br />Q. Sick Leave Cost Reduction Pro ream: For calendar year 2002, the Sick Leave Cost <br />Reduction Program shall continue in effect whereby a police officer may be compensated for <br />relinquishment of earned sick time through and including December 1, 2005, with the Board of <br />Public Safety establishing specific criteria and conditions. <br />R.
