to Twenty and 0/100 Dollars ($20.00) per day for each day which the officer is qualified, assigned <br />and performs field training activities with new recruits. <br />S. On-Call Duty Pay: Effective January 1, 2002, there are established ten (10) On-Call Duty <br />Pay categories. Six Hundred Fifty and 00/100 Dollars ($650.00) per category per year shall be <br />divided among the assigned police officers in each of the following categories. Such division ofpay <br />shall be determined according to frequency of assigned on-call days in the respective category and <br />shall be paid on a quarterly basis. The "On-Ca115tatus Categories" are: <br />Major Crimes Investigator <br />Major Crimes Technician <br />Sex Offense Investigator <br />Arson Investigator <br />S.T.O.P. Unit <br />Special Crimes Unit Investigator <br />Special Crimes Unit Technician <br />Investigative Division On-Call Duty Officer <br />Traffic On-Call Duty Officer <br />Traffic On-Call Diagramer <br />Section IV. Body Armor Vest Ouartermaster System: <br />All uniform division police officers shall continue to be provided with aCity-purchased body <br />armor vest to be replaced pursuant to the existing quartermaster system. Twelve (12) new body <br />armor vests shall be purchased by the City each year and made available to non-Uniform Division <br />police on an on-need basis, first come first serve. <br />Section V. Service Year Defined: <br />A. The first service year for a member of the South Bend Police Department commences <br />upon the individual being sworn in before the Board of Public Safety as a member of the department. <br />The second service year shall begin on the next succeeding January 15t, and service years shall <br />continue to increase until the member attains the maximum salary for the particular rank he or she <br />may hold. <br />B. Advancement from the rank of Patrolman First Class to Corporal is dependent upon three <br />(3) complete calendar years of service plus a determination of satisfactory performance of duty and <br />promotion by the Board of Public Safety. <br />Section VI.
