But rather <br />the IP@ND will encourage the continuous development of its core research/technology <br />platforms and facilitate an accelerated exploration of potential commercial applications, leading <br />to the transplantation of these enterprises into Michiana for market scale -up. <br />The Innovation Park at Notre Dame will have five interrelated mission components: <br />■ A Commercialization Component to nurture and accelerate active consideration of <br />alternative commercial applications of this technology platform development through <br />technology transfer, joint ventures, strategic alliances and start-up ventures, with <br />eventual transfer into Michiana. <br />■ A Research Component to attract research collaborators and resources needed to increase <br />the overall levels and impact of world -class research and technology platform <br />development at the University of Notre Dame. <br />■ A Community Development Component to create a more dynamic, creative environment <br />near the campus, in Michiana and beyond. <br />■ A Sustaining Component to ensure the long -term viability and contribution of the <br />IP @ND for the University of Notre Dame and the greater Michiana community. <br />■ An Educational Component in support of the educational mission of the University. <br />IP @ND's Commercialization Mission Component <br />IP @ND will seek to identify direct and indirect commercial applications of University <br />research/technology through collaboration with established corporate or institutional partners and <br />by nurturing wholly new business venture ideas through a network of business professionals with <br />deep knowledge of the domain space and projected trends of future needs.
