AG REE74EIJT <br />r <br />r <br />THIS AGREEMENT entered into this 22nd day of November, 1976 i <br />by and between the CIVIL CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, a municipality <br />acting by and through its BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS, hereinafter called <br />"City," and YOUNG WO'1EN'S CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION of St. Joseph County, <br />a not - for - profit corporation organized under the laws of the State of <br />Indiana, and hereinafter called "Y.W.C.A.," agree as follows: <br />W11FREAS, the City desires to assist women who are unable to <br />establish their own households, women who suddently find themselves <br />misplaced by divorce, death or transfers away from their hometown, <br />to provide educational continuity to pregnant adolescents whose educa- <br />tion has been disrupted, and to provide disadvantaged preschool <br />children with programs to ready said children for school and /or Head <br />Start Programs in order that said women, girls, and children will <br />have the opportunity to reach their potential as productive and usefill <br />individuals through planned educational, recreational, social and <br />counseling services.. <br />WHE' ?EAS, the City does not presently have the staff nor the <br />facilities to provide such services, and <br />WHEREAS, Y.W.C.A. does have the staff, expertise, and facilities <br />with which to provide such services, <br />NOW THEREFORE in consideration of the mutual covenants of the <br />parties hereto, it is agreed by and between the parties that: <br />1. Y.W.C.A. shall provide low -cost, sunervized, and protected <br />i <br />Residential Living arrangements for women who are unable to establish <br />their own households. Ii <br />2.
