IV) Interceptor and River Crossings
There is a number of conditions in the Interceptor system and in two
of the River Crossings that need Engineering type of analysis. These
may require some type of analysis. These may require some type
of consulting type Engineering attention. Money's for these studies
would come out of this fund.
312 Fuel Oil (Diesel Fuel Oil)
The budget amount for this item for 1976 is $37, 000. We are requesting
$30, 000 for 1977.
This line item represents the purchase of #1 Diesel Fuel Oil for the Plant
Diesel Engines. As was mentioned under line item 222 we use three types
of fuel in these engines. Digester gas - NIPSCO Gas and Diesel Fuel Oil.
Generally an increased usage in one category is reflected in a decrease in
one of the other two categories. For instance if we have more digester gas
to utilize it can be expected that this will be reflected in a decrease in usage
in either NIPSCO Gas or Diesel Fuel Oil.
We would like to point out that cooling water from the Diesel Engines is
used to heat the Plant Sludge and to heat the Compressor Building. The
Compressor Building is a large building 138 ft. by 85 ft. and the only source
of heat for this building is the generated heat from the Diesel Engines.
We have made no provision for futher Fuel Oil price increases.
313 Bottle Gas
The budget amount for 1976 is $3500.00 We are asking for the same amount
for 1977. The Plant Expansion program added seven additional buildings to
the Plant complex. Some of the new buildings are heated with bating oil,
some with bottle gas and a few small buildings with electricity. The new
laboratory will be heated with digester gas.
We have made no provision for possible price increases.
322 Oil
The budget figure for 1976 was 10,000. We are asking for $7,500.
