VACATIONS
A. Applicant: Jeffery A. Logan
1. Location: The East /West Alley going West from Michigan to the First
North/South Alley between Calvert and Dayton
2. Purpose: Security
3. See Comments: Engineering states applicant must maintain utility easements;
Community Investment states the applicant should understand they will only
get half of the vacated alley and it may not alleviate the security issues.
B. Applicant: Robert Baranowski
1. Location: The East /West Alley going East from Harris to the First
North/South Alley between Huron and the Railroad Tracks
2. Purpose: Security
3. See Comments: Area Plan Commission stated the vacation would hinder the
use of a public way by the neighborhood in which it is located or to which it is
contiguous — the properties along both Harris and Walnut use the alley for
access to their properties; vacating this portion would create a dead -end alley
that would make the use of the public way difficult; Community Investment
stated the vacation would leave a north/south alley stub (the nearby alley east
to Walnut is a paper alley) but if service provision still works without this
alley, approval is recommended.
GARY A.
