REPORT OF CITY PLAN COMMISSION
The Honorable Common Council
City of South Bend September 8, 1956
South Bend, Indiana
Gentlemen:
The attached petition of Otto Baker, et al, to annex to the City of South Bend approximately 25 acres now in Clay
Township, being the South 1/2 of the South 1/2 of Section 32, Township 38,Range 3 East, was legally advertised
under date of August 27, 1956. Said petition was given public hearing by the Commission on September 6, 1956, and
the following action was taken:
The Commission found that the Portage Realty ;Corporation, the major land holder, had desired annexation prior
to residential development of subject property, and that since the filing of the petiton, Po -tage Realty
Corporation had acquired an additional tract of land consisting of approximately 5 acres located contiguous to
the northwest boundary of subject annexation petition. The Commission'futher found that the Portage Realty
C Corporation desired that petition be amended to include said additional acreage.
After due consideration, it was moved, seconded, and unanimously carried that the petition be amended to in-
clude the approximate 5 acres adjacent and so favorably recommend to the Council.
Very truly yours,
CITY PLANNING COMMISSION
