REGULAR MEETING MARCH 26TH, 1951 <br />PETITION <br />To the Common Council of South Bend <br />South Bend, Indiana March 21, 1951 <br />Gentlemen: <br />We, the undersigned, being the owners of the real estate in South Bend known as Lots 9, 10, 11 and 12 in <br />Rockstroh Bros. Addition to the City of South Bend, Indiana, do respectfully petition the Common Council to <br />change the zoning of Lots 9, 10, 11 and 12 from C Height and Area to E Height and Area, and Lot 12 from B <br />Residential to C Commercial. <br />(4 Signers) <br />Councilman Tellson made a motion that the petition be referred to the City Plan Commission. Councilman Korpal <br />seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />PETITION <br />To the City Council of the City <br />of South Bend, Indiana <br />Honorable Sirs: <br />We, the undersigned, owners in fee of the herein following described real estate in Homeland Second Addition to <br />the City of •South Bend respectfully request the changing of the City Zoning Ordinance as to the above described <br />real estate from C use district and D height and area district regulation to B use district and A height and <br />area 'district regulation. <br />(13 Signers) <br />Councilman Korpal made a motion that the petition be referred to the City Plan Commission. Councilman Bestle <br />seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />REPORT OF THE C OPfflMITTEE OF THE WHOLE <br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: <br />Your Committee of the Whole to whom was referred "An Ordinance fixing the salaries of certain City Officials and <br />Employees of the City of South Bend, Indiana, effective January 1, 1952, and repealing all ordinances and parts <br />of ordinances in conflict therewith ". <br />Respectfully report that they have examined the matter and that in their opinion this ordinance go to the <br />Council as favorable. <br />STANLEY C. KORPAL, Chairman <br />Councilman Erler made a motion that the report be accepted. Councilman Glass seconded the motion. Motion <br />carried. " <br />REPORT OF THE COM�.RITTEE OF THE WHOLE. <br />To the Common Council of the City of South bend: <br />Your Committee of the Whole to whom was referred "An Ordinance ordering and providing for the sale of the <br />following described real estate in the City of South Bend, St. Joseph County, Indiana, to -w.it: <br />Beginning at the Southwest corner of Lot Numbered G2 in Wenger and <br />Kreighbaums Vistula Avenue Addition to the City of South Bend, Indiana, <br />thence Northerly parallel with the East line of Lincoln Way East 136.7 <br />feet; thence East 30 feet; thence North 50 feet; thence East to the St. <br />Joseph River; thence Southwesterly to a point directly Fast of the <br />place of beginning; thence West to the place of beginning, subject to <br />the right of the City of South Bend to construct an interceptor sewer <br />across said land at the approximate location and depth as shown on the <br />plans for the interceptor sewer in the Engineer's Office of said city. <br />Respectfully report that they have examined the matter and that in their opinion this ordinance go to the <br />Council as favorable. <br />STANLEY C. Motion <br />carri ed. <br />REPORT OF COMMITTEE <br />To the President and Members of the City Council: <br />We examined the conditions relative to the re- zoning of the block south of Sherwood Street to Chippewa Avenue on <br />South Michigan Street, and we recommend that the zoning not be changed at this time, as the only commercial <br />property in that vicinity is the Vialz Garage at 3423 South Michigan Street. <br />(Signed) A. Motion carried. <br />Councilman Erler made a motion that Attorney John Montgomery's request for the withdrawal of his petition be <br />granted, and that the ordinance be stricken from the file. Councilman Tellson seconded the motion. Motion <br />carried. <br />
