REPORT OF BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY (Continued) <br />Mr. Qualls also informed the Board that a street light at Washington and Huey Streets has been installed and <br />is now in service; and, a street light on Talbot Street between South Bend Avenue and Howard Street has been <br />changed from a 1000 lumen light to a 4000 lumen light. <br />Very truly yours, <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS & SAFETY <br />(Signed) Freda G. Noble, Clerk <br />Councilman Niezgodski made a motion that the report be accepted. Councilman Glass seconded the motion. <br />Motion carried. <br />REPORT OF THE COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE <br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: <br />Your Committee of the Whole to whom was referred "An Ordinance reducing certain items in the 1950 South Bend, <br />Indiana, Municipal Civil City Budget; and a propriating from the General Fund of said City the sum of Eleven <br />Thousand and Eighty -two Dollars ($11,082.00; and also appropriating from the General Street and Traffic Fund <br />of said City the sum of Four Thousand Nine Hundred Dollars ($4,900.00), all to certain other budgetary items <br />of the 1950 budget of the Municipal Civil City of South Bend, Indiana, and declaring an extraordinary emergency". <br />Respectfully report that they have examined the matter and that in their opinion this ordinance should go to <br />the Council as favorable. <br />STANLEY C. KORPAL, Chairman <br />Councilman Glass made a motion that the report be accepted. Councilman Niezgodski seconded the motion. <br />Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 3781 <br />AN ORDINANCE REDUCING CERTAIN ITEMS IN THE 1950 SOUTH BEND, <br />INDIANA, MUNICIPAL CIVIL CITY BUDGET; AND APPROPRIATING FROM <br />THE GENERAL FUND OF SAID CITY THE SUM OF ELEVEN THOUSAND AND <br />EIGHTY -TWO DOLLARS ($11,082.00); AND ALSO APPROPRIATING FROM <br />THE GENERAL STREET AND TRAFFIC FUND OF SAID CITY THE SUM OF <br />FOUR THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($4,900.00), ALL TO CERTAIN <br />OTHER BUDGETARY ITEMS OF THE 1950 BUDGET OF THE MUNICIPAL CIVIL <br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AND DECLARING AN EXTRAORDINARY <br />EMERGENCY. <br />The ordinance was given third reading and passed by a roll call.vote of 6 ayes - 2 absent (Kemper and Tellson). <br />}REPORT OF THE CITY PLAN COMMISSION <br />To the Common Council <br />City of South Bend, Indiana October 9th, 1950 <br />Gentlemen: <br />Petition of Louis Fischer for change of zoning of Lots No. 30 and 31 and 32 in Pleasant Home Addition from B <br />residence and A height and area districts to C commercial and D height and area districts was given public <br />hearing before the City Plan Commission on September 7, 1950, pLnd this change is recommended as petitioned for. <br />These lots form the west half of the block between Lawndale Avenue and Sancome Avenue on the North side of <br />LaPorte Avenue. <br />Yours truly, <br />D. Motion <br />carried. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 3782 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 3702, COMMONLY KNOWN <br />AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH B &TD, INDIANA. <br />(Lots No. 30, 31 & 32 in Pleasant Home Addition) <br />The ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Niezgodski made a motion <br />for suspension of rules. Councilman Glass seconded the motion. Motion carried by a roll call vote of 6 ayes - <br />2 absent (Kemper and Tellson). <br />The ordinance was given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 6 ayes - 2 absent (Kemper and Tellson). <br />REPORT OF THE CITY PLAN COMMISSION <br />To the Common Council <br />City of South Bend, Indiana <br />Gentlemen: <br />October 9th, 1950 <br />Petition of Bertha Friedman for change of zoning of Lot No. 3 in John F. Kirby's Addition from D light industrial <br />and E height and area districts to C commercial and D height and area districts was given Public Hearing before <br />the City Plan Commission and this change is not recommended. <br />Yours truly <br />D.
