REGULAR MEETI NG <br />OCTOBER 9TH, 1950 <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 3702, COMMONLY KNOWN <br />AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA. <br />(Lot No. 3 in John F. Kirby's Addition) <br />The ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Glass made a motion for <br />suspension of rules. Councilman Bestle seconded the motion. Motion carried by a roll call vote of B ayes - <br />0 nays - 2 absent (Kemper and Tellson). <br />The ordinance was given third reading and lost by a roll call vote of 0 ayes - 6 nays - 2 absent (Kemper and <br />Tellson). <br />NEW . BUS INESS - <br />A number of residents in the 800, 900 and 1000 blocks of West Dunham Street appeared before the Council relative <br />to heavy drop hammers in use in the new forge shop of the Oliver Corporation, keeping residents awake and <br />loosening the plaster from the walls of their homes and destroying their chimneys. Councilman Niezgodski made <br />a motion that this be referred to the City Attorney to determine whether the city government, through the . <br />Council, has a legal right to step into the situation and report back to the Council October 23rd. Councilman <br />Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />There being no further business, Councilman Niezgodski made a motion to adjourn, which motion was seconded by <br />Councilman Glass.
