President Erler presided. <br />REPORT OF BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY <br />Board of Public Works and Safety <br />City of South Bend, Indiana <br />Gentlemen: <br />October 6, 1950 <br />Your letter of October 5th, enclosing copy of a motion made at a meeting of the Common Council of the City of <br />South Bend on September 23rd, relative to smoke from three New York Central switch engines, has been referred <br />to the proper authorities for attention. Motion carried. <br />REPORT OF BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS AND SAFETY <br />Members of the Common Council <br />Council Chambers, City Hall <br />City ,of South Bend, Indiana <br />Gentlemen:`, <br />September 29, 1950 <br />The Board of Public Works and Safety has authorized the installation of street lights at the following locations, <br />upon the- recommendation of Mr. Qualls: <br />11 - 4000 lumen lights in Belleville Unit A <br />10 - 4000 lumen lights in Garden Village lst Unit <br />8 - 4000 lumen lights in Replat of LaSalle Park 2nd <br />The above lights were requested by the Colpaert Corporation for their new housing developments in the Western <br />part of the city. <br />Very truly yours, <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS & SAFETY <br />Freda G. Councilman Niezgodski seconded the motion. <br />Motion carried. <br />REPORT OF BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS-AND SAFETY <br />Members of the Oommon Council <br />`Council Chambers, City Hall September 29, 1950 <br />City of South Bend, Indiana <br />Gentlemen: <br />The Board of Public Works and Safety has authorized the installation of street lights at the following locations: <br />Thirty- fourth Street between Washington and Marshall Streets; Thirty - fourth and Marshall Streets; Olive and Keller <br />Streets; Donald and Robinson Streets; Walnut Street between Colfax and Linden Avenue; Diamond Avenue between <br />Lincoln Way West and Van Buren Street; Poplar'Street at the alley dead -end; McKinley and Eddy Streets; McKinley <br />and Arthur Streets. <br />Mr. Qualls informed the Board that the street lights on Lafayette Boulevard at the entrance of the Temple Beth E1 <br />on Lafayette and the main entrance on Madison Street have been installed and are now in service. <br />(Continued) <br />
