8. That further use of said pavement by heavy trucking will irreparably damage said pavement, all to the <br />expense of the undersigned, who are assessed for the cost of the same. <br />9. That said Grace Street, east of Arnold Street, is a narrow and short street, and is not easily accessible <br />to motor vehicles other than passenger vehicles, and that the turning radius available for turning into said <br />Grace Street aforesaid from Arnold Street is match too short as to enable motor vehicles other than passenger <br />vehicles of ordinary length to enter into--said Grace Street without difficulty. <br />10.. That recently, one of such motor vehicles in turning into said Grace Street did break an electric line <br />pole, and that the same was replaced by the Indiana and Michigan Electric Company. <br />11. That the closing of said street to trucking will not impose hardship upon the- Oliver Corporation for the <br />reason that the Oliver Corporation does have on its property other places of ingress and egress, which places <br />are: more. readily accessible to trucks entering onto and departing from its property. <br />WHEREFORE, in the interests of protecting the new pavement on Grace Street aforesaid against arty possibility <br />of damage From trucking, and in the interests of &voiding expenses of repairing said pavement after the <br />occurrence to it of damage from trucking, the cost of which payment -is now or will be assessed against the <br />property of said owners, which property fronts on said Grace Street, aforesaid, the undersigned do respectfully <br />pray of the City Council of South 13ond that it enact into law a prohibition of the use of Grace Street by <br />motor vehicles other than passenger vehicles. <br />(signed) 8 Petitioners <br />Councilman Korpal made a motion that the petition be accepted and placed on file.
