<br />WHEREAS, An Ordinance numbered 3216, fixing salaries for various officials of the City of South
<br />Bend for the period.commencing Jenurry 1, 1938, to December 31, 1938, has been heretofore in-
<br />troduced before the Common Council of the City of South Bend and has been passed upon'first
<br />and second readings and-referred to the finance committee to be considered Pt the time of the

<br />?NHERE.S, Seid salary ordinance purports to fix salaries for members of the police, fire 2nd
<br />electrical departments of ssid city on a basis which is approximately six 2nd two- thirds(6 2/3)
<br />per cent higher than the prevailing salary schedule for the ye2r 1937, end Al
<br />WHEREAS, Said-.-:combined wage committees hove decided to request a salary restoration for the
<br />year 1938 to the level of the 1930 salary schedule for the-members of said denertTents,
<br />ROW, THEREFORE,�•BE IT RESOLVED, By the combined wage committees of the police, fire snd electri-
<br />cal departments of the. City of So-ath Bend that the Honorable Mayor of said city, members of the
<br />Board of Safety of said. City and the members of the common council of said city be end they ere
<br />hereby memorialized and requested to properly establish a salary schedule for the members of
<br />said departments for the year 1935 upon the level of the 1930 salary schedule by the enactment
<br />and PP-roval of such ordinances es may be necessary to effect the establishment of said salaries
<br />and that a copy of the Proposed ordinance prepared by the commbined wage committees of the said
