k _ <br />TO THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, IND. <br />Gentlemen: This will acknowlwdge receipt of copy of your resolution urging the printing of a <br />special series of ,postage stamps in honor of Brigadier General Thaddeus Koscuszko. <br />I have introduced a bill to this effect and em enclosing copy I am also writing to Postmaster <br />General Farley urging him t6 give consideration to the matter. <br />It would be highly fitting to commemorate the services of this Polish patriot-,to the establish. <br />ment of American independence and I am glad to support the proposal, - especially as it involves <br />no extra expenditure, as I understand the extra costs of engraving etc, are more than compens& <br />ed by the demand among collectors for special issuesm of postage stamps. I have <br />been in the Dance Business for a Good many years and have never beem interested in thes kind <br />of Dances -. In the First place they are degarding to the n better Kind of Dancesin other word <br />they are plan Rackets to the Dance Business. Dancing as always has been.the Leading social. <br />Function and still is for the Young people of any city if the Proper_Kind of Dances are <br />promoted..
