Gentlemen: This will acknowlwdge receipt of copy of your resolution urging the printing of a special series of ,postage stamps in honor of Brigadier General Thaddeus Koscuszko. I have introduced a bill to this effect and em enclosing copy I am also writing to Postmaster General Farley urging him t6 give consideration to the matter. It would be highly fitting to commemorate the services of this Polish patriot-,to the establish. ment of American independence and I am glad to support the proposal, - especially as it involves no extra expenditure, as I understand the extra costs of engraving etc, are more than compens& ed by the demand among collectors for special issuesm of postage stamps. To the Common Council - Dear Sir. I see that Council has a Hill to x ban the so called stunt Dances namly the Walkothon and Marothon. Dane es." I think this.a very, fine move, for the Good of the City. I have been in the Dance Business for a Good many years and have never beem interested in thes kind of Dances -. In the First place they are degarding to the n better Kind of Dancesin other word they are plan Rackets to the Dance Business. Dancing as always has been.the Leading social. Function and still is for the Young people of any city if the Proper_Kind of Dances are promoted.. And I trust that Council will pass this Bill. To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: Your Committee of the Whole to whom was referred An Ordinance Amending Sections four and five of Ordinance No. 1594 adopted-.June 12,,1911, providing gor the licensing of transient merohants, which sections are also sections 474 and -475 of the ordinancces of the City of South Bend published ij volume form as ordinance Noi.1527 adopted February 14, 1916, and further amendings said ordinance by adding thereto an additional section numbered 42 Respectful y report that they have examined the matter, and that in their opinion the said ordinance should be reported_ Favorable.
