ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE FOR ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATIONS IN <br />THE SEWAGE DISPOSAL FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $62,717.55 <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents <br />were given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Speaking in favor of the Ordinance was James A. Bickel, <br />City Controller. Councilman Laven made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. <br />Councilman Hunter seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE FOR ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATIONS FROM THE <br />GENERAL FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $10,500.00 TO VARIOUS <br />ACCOUNTS WITHIN THE GENERAL FUND. <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents <br />were given an opportunity to be heard thereon . Councilman Palmer made a motion that the Ordinance go to <br />the Council as favorable. Councilman Allen seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE FOR AN ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION <br />FROM THE FAIR EMPLOYMENT PRACTICES COMMISSION <br />FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF $150.00 TO ACCOUNT 214 <br />TELEPHONE AND TELEGRAPH, IN SAID FUND. <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance proponents and opponents <br />were given an opportunity to be heard thereon. George Neagu, Executive Director of the Fair Employment <br />Practices Commission. Councilman Laven made a motion that the Ordinance be amended to read $65.00, <br />instead of $150.00.. Motion died for lack of a second. Councilman Szymkowiak made a motion that the <br />Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Allen seconded the motion. Motion failed, 4 ayes, <br />(Councilmen Allen, Geib, Szymkowiak and Smith), 5 nay (Councilmen Laven, Hunter, Wise, Muszynski and Palmer). <br />Councilman Geib spoke in favor of the Ordinance and asked that a second vote be taken. Councilman <br />Szymkowiak made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman Geib seconded <br />the motion. Motion carried, 8 ayes, Councilmen Hunter, Allen, Palmer, Wise, Geib, Szymkowiak, Smith <br />and Muszynski), 1 nay, (Councilman Laven). <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER.OF <br />$29,268.36 FROM THE SOUTH BEND APW INDIANA <br />1G FUND AND $7,639.72 FROM THE SOUTH BEND <br />APW INDIANA 3G FUND TO THE GENERAL FUND OF <br />THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents <br />were given an opportunity to be heard thereon. James A. Bickel, City Controller spoke in favor of the <br />Ordinance. Councilman Hunter made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman <br />Palmer seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF <br />$31,394.36 FROM THE STREET AND TRAFFIC <br />FUND AND $23,042.60 FROM THE CITY PLAN <br />FUND TO THE GENERAL FUND AND APPROPRIATING <br />FROM THE GENERAL FUND THE SUM OF $48,000.00 <br />TO ACCOUNT B -53 "REFUND, AWARDS AND INDEMNITIES" <br />IN THE OFFICE OF CONTROLLER <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were <br />given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Councilman Laven made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council <br />as favorable. Councilman Szymkowiak seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE <br />AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF <br />$1,523.63 FROM THE 1960 GENERAL STREET <br />IMPROVEMENT FUND AND $6,469.48 FROM THE <br />MUNICIPAL BONDS OF 1961 FUND TO THE <br />GENERAL SINKING FUND OF THE CITY OF SOUTH <br />BEND, INDIANA. <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above Ordinance, proponents and opponents were <br />given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Speaking in favor of the Ordinance was James A. Bickel, City <br />Controller. Councilman Hunter made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable. Councilman <br />Wise seconded the motion. Councilman Palmer made a motion that the Ordinance go to the <br />Council as favorable. Councilman Laven seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />
