BRGuLAR MEETING Artci.L iL, L7VJ <br />REPORT OF CITY PLANNING COMMISSION <br />April 6, 1965 <br />The Honorable Common Council <br />City of South Bend <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Gentlemen: <br />The attached petition of Oden & Martha Robertson to rezone from "A" Residential Use and "A" Height and Area <br />District to "C" Commercial Use and "A" Height and Area District a trapizoidal shaped parcel of land lying <br />approximately 200 feet West of Iowa Street and being bounded on the North by Elwood Avenue and on the South <br />by Lincoln Way West was legally advertised under date of December 28, 1964 and given public hearing on <br />January 7, 1965. The following action was taken: <br />After due consideration the Commission found that the <br />proposed rezoning would be in the best interest of the <br />subject area. It was therefore duly moved, seconded, <br />and unanimously carried that the petition be recommended <br />favorably to the Council. <br />Very truly yours, <br />CITY PLANNING COMMISSION <br />Robert L. Motion carried. <br />REPORT OF CITY PLANNING COMMISSION <br />April 6; 1965 <br />The Honorable Common Council <br />City of South Bend <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Gentlemen: <br />The attached petition of John Hartman and Virginia Crawford to rezone from "A" Residential Use and "A" Height <br />and Area District to "C" Commercial Use and "B" Height and Area District a trapezoidal shaped parcel of land <br />bounded on the North by Elwood Street, on the East by Iowa Street, on the Southwest by Lincoln Way West and <br />being 230.44 feet deep east and west was legally advertised under date of February 12, 1965 and given public <br />hearing on February 23, 1965. The following action was taken; <br />After due consideration the Commission found that the <br />proposed zoning would be in the best interest of the <br />subject area and a natural extension of the commercial <br />zoning to the east. Mink, et al, to rezone from "B" Residential Use to "C" Commercial <br />Use the property generally located at the Southeast corner of Miami and Lincoln Way East was legally advertised <br />under date of March 22, 1965 and given public hearing on April 1, 1965. The following adtion was taken: <br />After due consideration the Commission found that the proposed <br />rezoning would not be in the best interest of the subject area, <br />that sufficient commercial zoning exists in the area, and that <br />commercial development of this area would generate a serious <br />traffic problem.
