BRGuLAR MEETING Artci.L iL, L7VJ REPORT OF CITY PLANNING COMMISSION April 6, 1965 The Honorable Common Council City of South Bend South Bend, Indiana Gentlemen: The attached petition of Oden & Martha Robertson to rezone from "A" Residential Use and "A" Height and Area District to "C" Commercial Use and "A" Height and Area District a trapizoidal shaped parcel of land lying approximately 200 feet West of Iowa Street and being bounded on the North by Elwood Avenue and on the South by Lincoln Way West was legally advertised under date of December 28, 1964 and given public hearing on January 7, 1965. The following action was taken: After due consideration the Commission found that the proposed rezoning would be in the best interest of the subject area. It was therefore duly moved, seconded, and unanimously carried that the petition be recommended favorably to the Council. Very truly yours, CITY PLANNING COMMISSION Robert L. Huff, /s/ Director of Planning RLH/6f attach. Councilman Szymkowiak made a motion that the report be accepted and placed on file. Councilman Geib seconded the motion. Motion carried. REPORT OF CITY PLANNING COMMISSION April 6; 1965 The Honorable Common Council City of South Bend South Bend, Indiana Gentlemen: The attached petition of John Hartman and Virginia Crawford to rezone from "A" Residential Use and "A" Height and Area District to "C" Commercial Use and "B" Height and Area District a trapezoidal shaped parcel of land bounded on the North by Elwood Street, on the East by Iowa Street, on the Southwest by Lincoln Way West and being 230.44 feet deep east and west was legally advertised under date of February 12, 1965 and given public hearing on February 23, 1965. The following action was taken; After due consideration the Commission found that the proposed zoning would be in the best interest of the subject area and a natural extension of the commercial zoning to the east. It was therefore duly moved, seconded, and unanimously carried that the petition be recommended favorably to the Council. Very truly yours, CITY PLANNING COMMISSION Robert L. REPORT OF CITY PLANNING COMMISSION April 6, 1965 The Honorable Common Council City of South Bend South Bend, Indiana Gentlemen: The attached petition of John H. and Maude A. Mink, et al, to rezone from "B" Residential Use to "C" Commercial Use the property generally located at the Southeast corner of Miami and Lincoln Way East was legally advertised under date of March 22, 1965 and given public hearing on April 1, 1965. The following adtion was taken: After due consideration the Commission found that the proposed rezoning would not be in the best interest of the subject area, that sufficient commercial zoning exists in the area, and that commercial development of this area would generate a serious traffic problem. It was .therefore duly moved, seconded, and unanimously carried that the petition be recommended unfavorably to the Council. Very truly yours, CITY PLANNING COMMISSION Robert L.
