<br />To the Common Council of South Bend, Indiana:
<br />Your Committee on Ordinances, To whom was referred Ordinance No. - - -- submits the following report:
<br />Your Committee met on Monday, February 1, 1960 and after reviewing existent statutes and ordinances pertaining
<br />to the subject matter of this ordinance,concluded that the same should be amended. Accordingly, your committee
<br />submits the attached amended ordinance and recommends that said ordinance, as amended, be set for public hearing.

<br />Councilman Tellson made a motion that the report be accepted and placed on file. Councilman Muszynski seconded the
<br />motion. Motion carried.
<br />Councilman Allen made a motion, that the Ordinance on firearms be set for public hearing on Tuesday, February 23,
<br />1960, at 8:00 P.M. Councilman Coleman seconded the motion. Motion carried.

<br />After the Council meeting was reconvened, President Kroll asked that the Boy Scouts who were elected to serve as
<br />City Officials on this, Scouts in Government Day, rise and introduce and identify themselves. Then President
<br />Kroll introduced Mayor Edward F. Voorde who recognized the presence of the Boy Scouts and commended them for their
<br />interest in Government.

<br />Your Committee of the Whole, to whom was referred AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING IN THE 1959 GENERAL STREET
<br />IMPROVEMENT FUND THE SUM OF $52,947.66, Respectfully report that they have examined the matter and that in their
<br />opinion IT SHOULD BE REPORTED FAVORABLE.

<br />REPORT OF THE COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE
<br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bend:
<br />Your Committee of the Whole,to whom was referred AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 3702, COMMONLY KNOWN
<br />AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, (Light Petition), Respectfully report that they have examined
<br />the matter and Councilman Kroll moved, seconded by Councilman Muszynski, that the Ordinance be withdrawn. Council
<br />voted unanimously to withdraw Ordinance,

<br />Councilman Muszynski moved, seconded by Councilman Allen, that the Ordinance be withdrawn and expunged from the
<br />Council records. Motion was unanimously carried.
<br />Councilman Ladewski made a motion that the Report of the Committee of the Whole be accepted and placed on file.
<br />Councilman Allen seconded the motion. Motion carried.

<br />AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AN OPTION FOR THE PURCHASE OF REAL ESTATE BETWEEN THE
<br />MUNICIPAL CITY OF SOUTH BEND AND MABEL M. CROWEL
<br />The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Muszynski made a motion for
<br />suspension of rules. Councilman Lehman seconded the motion. Motion carried by a roll call vote of 9 ayes, 0 nays.
<br />The Ordinance was then given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 9 ayes, 0 nays.

<br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE AND SALE OF
<br />BONDS OF SAID CITY FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING FUNDS TO BE APPLIED TO THE COST OF
<br />CONSTRUCTION, RE- CONSTRUCTION AND IMPROVEMENT OF STREETS, AND EXPENSES INCURRED IN
<br />CONNECTION THEREWITH.
<br />The City Clerk presented to the Council a petition filed by owners of taxable real estate in the City of South
<br />Bend, Indiana, requesting the Common Council to authorize the issuance of bonds of the City of South Bend in an
<br />amount not exceeding One Million ($1,000,000.00) Dollars, for the purpose of providing funds to be applied to the
<br />cost of construction, re- construction and improvement of streets in said City and expenses incurred in connection
<br />therewith. Said petition having been examined and found to be sufficient and to be properly verified and certi-
<br />fied, on motion duly made by Councilman Lehman, seconded by Councilman Allen, and carried, the same was approved
<br />and ordered filed.
