REPORT OF THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION The Honorable Common Council City of South.Bend South Bend, Indiana Gentlemen: January 11, 1960 The attached petition of Place and Company to annex to the City of South Bend a parcel of land lying at the southeast corner of Miami Road and Ireland Road, containing 119.22 acres, more or less,.was legally advertised on December 28, 1959 and given public hearing under date of January 7, 1960. The following action was taken: After due consideration the Commission found that the proposed additional land was needed for municipal expansion, and that in their opinion the criteria for annexation as set forth.in the Annexation Statute were present. Councilman Muszynski made a motion that the Ordinance be set for public hearing on 'January 25, 1960. Councilman Ladewski seconded the motion. Motion carried. AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 3702, (North Ironwood Road) The Ordinance was -given first reading by title and second reading in full. Motion carriec AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING IN THE 1959 GENERAL STREET IMPROVEMENT FUND THE SUM OF $52,947.66 The ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Muszynski made a motion that the Ordinance be set for public hearing on January 25, 1960. Councilman Ladewski seconded the motion. Motion carried. ORDINANCE NO. 4293 - -60 AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY WATER WORKS OF SOUTH BEND AND BURROUGH'S CORPORATION FOR THE PURCHASE OF TWO BURROUGH'S STYLE F5500 DUAL PRINTER SENSIMATICS FOR $13,313.50 The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Muszynski made a motion for suspension of rules. Councilman Glass seconded the motion. Motion carried by a roll call vote of 9 ayes, 0 nays. The Ordinance was then given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 9 ayes, 0 nays. ORDINANCE NO. 4294 - - -60 AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AN OPTION TO RENEW A LEASE BETWEEN THE MUNICIPAL CITY OF SOUTH BEND AND ALBERT MEILSTRUP, d /b /a. MEILSTRUP CARTAGE COMPANY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Allen made a motion for suspension of rules. Councilman Coleman seconded the motion. Motion carried by a roll call vote of 9 ayes, 0 nays. The Ordinance was then given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 9 ayes, 0 nays.
