The Council was advised by the City Attorney that this was <br />not an appropriating Ordinance and did not require public hearing. Mr. Kroll withdrew his motion. Councilman <br />Hahn made a motion for suspension of rules. Councilman Muszynski seconded the motion. Motion _carried by a roll call <br />vote of 8aye, 0 nays, 1 absent (Councilman Glass). The Ordinance was then given third reading and passed by a roll <br />call vote of 8 ayes, 0 nays, 1 absent (Councilman Glass). <br />ORDINANCE NO. 4262 - - -59 <br />AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AN AGREEMENT EXECUTED BY THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS OF THE MUNICIPAL <br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND WITH THE STATE HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT OF INDIANA FOR FIFTY PER CENT PARTICI- <br />PATION OF THE MUNICIPAL CITY OF SOUTH BEND FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF STATE PROJECT 82 (D)ON <br />STATE ROAR 2 (Western Avenue) FROM MAPLE STREET EAST TO 0.02 MILE' EAST OF TAYLOR STEET IN <br />THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA <br />The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Muszynski made a motion for <br />suspension of rules. Councilman Christman seconded the motion. Motion carried by a roll call vote of 8ayes, 0 nays, <br />1 absent (Councilman Glass). The Ordinance was then given third reading and passed by a roll call vote of 8 ayes, <br />0 nays, 1 absent (Councilman Glass). <br />RESOLUTION: See opposite page. <br />OLD BUSINESS <br />Councilman Kroll made an oral report of the Transportation Committee meeting with the Traffic Engineer in regard <br />to removal of two hour parking signs in the vicinity of the Studebaker Packard Corporation. <br />Mr. Ray Andrysiak, City Engineer, reported on progress being made by the Railroad Companies relative to repairing <br />crossings. He said that the Prairie Avenue, Kemble and Walnut crossings should be started this week and that the <br />Twyckenham Drive and Ironwood Drive (at St. Anthony's School) would be started in the near future. <br />There being no further business to come before the Council, Councilman Hahn made a motion to adjourn..
