14� <br />REGULAR MEETING JULY 14,, 1969 <br />COMMUNICATION <br />International Institute of Municipal Clerks <br />Museum of Science & Industry <br />57th & Lake Shore Drive <br />Chicago, Illinois 60637 <br />LEADERSHIP HONOR TO LOCAL CLERK - FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE <br />KATHRYN L. BLOUGH, South Bend, Indiana - CITY CLERK <br />has received an appointment as a Committeeman of the IIMC 1969 -70, Legislation Committee for <br />the International Institute of Municipal Clerks, thus taking her place within the Leadership <br />Corps of this professional organization. In announcing "this very important appointment to <br />provide a truly significant service" IIMC President Joseph T. Carneyheq ty Clerk of Englewood, <br />New Jersey, asserted that "We are very fortunate that Mrs. Blough will,,IIMC plan, develop and <br />institute its dynamic programs for the betterment of the free world's local governments. <br />Interested people with her abilities are difficult to find." <br />The new Committeeman, who has been CITY CLERK since January 1, 1964, joined the internationa: <br />organization of her professional colleagues in January 1964. Mrs. Blough's appointed role is <br />a recognition of her leadership ability among the 2,000 CITY CLERK'S and like officials in as <br />many municipalities throughout the free world. <br />Councilman Janet S. Allen read the above communication for the Council. Councilman Grounds <br />made a motion that the Ordinance be set for Public Hearing on July 28, 1969. Councilman Palmer <br />seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE, FIRST AND SECOND READING <br />AN ORDINANCE FOR ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATIONS <br />FROM THE GENERAL FUND IN THE AMOUNT OF <br />$1,654.00 TO ACCOUNT C -11, "SERVICES PERSONAL" <br />AND IN THE AMOUNT OF $286.00 TO ACCOUNT C -213, <br />"TRAVELING EXPENSES ", IN THE OFFICE OF THE <br />CITY CLERK AND ALL BEING WITHIN THE GENERAL <br />FUND. <br />The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Palmer <br />made a motion that the Ordinance be set for Public Hearing on July 28, 1969. Councilman <br />Zielinski seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />ORDINANCE, FIRST AND SECOND READING <br />AN ORDINANCE CREATING A "JUNK VEHICLE FUND" <br />AND DENOMINATING THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />AND SAFETY AS THE DEPARTMENT OF CITY GOVERN- <br />MENT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REMOVAL, STORAGE <br />AND DISPOSAL OF ABANDONED VEHICLES ACCORDING <br />TO THE ABANDONED VEHICLE ACT ENACTED BY THE <br />1969 INDIANA GENERAL ASSEMBLY. <br />The Ordinance was given first reading by title and second reading in full. Councilman Grounds <br />made a motion that the Ordinance be set for Public Hearing on July 28, 1969. Councilman <br />Szymkowiak seconded the motion. Motion carried. <br />
