<br />WHEREAS, the Council has determined the public utility and benefit of the pro-
<br />ject.
<br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend,
<br />Indiana, as follows:
<br />SECTION I. The Common Council hereby confirms its Declaratory Resolution No. 947 -82,
<br />adopted by the Council on March 15, 1982, which designated the area
<br />described hererein as a Urban Development Area for the purposes of
<br />Tangible Personal Property tax abatement consideration and confirms its determination
<br />of the project's public utility and benefit.
<br />SECTION II. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after
<br />its adoption by the Common Council and approval by the Mayor.

<br />RESOLUTION NO. 954 -82 A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND,
<br />INDIANA, APPROVING THE AWARD OF EIGHT CONTRACTS
<br />IN EXCESS OF $10,000.00 FOR THE REHABILITATION
<br />WORK IN THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM THROUGH THE BUREAU
<br />OF HOUSING'S REHABILITATION GRANT PROGRAM.
<br />WHEREAS, low bids for the rehabilitation work under the Community Development
<br />Housing Rehabilitation Grant Program have exceeded $10,000.00.
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend,
<br />Indiana:
<br />1. That approval be granted to the Redevelopment Commission of the City of
<br />South Bend, Indiana, to enter into a contract with the following contractors for the
<br />rehabilitation work on the following properties:

<br />rector of the Bureau of Housing, indicated that these properties are being rehabili-
<br />tated through the Grant, 312, and South Bend Home Improvement Loan programs. Council
<br />Member Serge made a motion to adopt this resolution, seconded by Council Member Szymkowia

<br />RESOLUTION NO. 955 -82 A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE LAUREL WOODS APARTMENTS
<br />WHEREAS, a shortage of decent, safe and sanitary housing for persons and fami-
<br />lies exists in South Bend, Indiana (the "City ");
<br />WHEREAS, it is proposed that
<br />the City to be owned and operated
<br />partnership (the "Owners "), consi

<br />for assistance under Section 8 of

<br />a housing project be financed and constructed in
<br />by Laurel Woods Apartments, an Indiana limited
