<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Ms. Roos and carried, the above Quotations
<br />were referred to Water Works and Engineering for review and recommendation. After review of
<br />the quotes, Mr. John Engstrom, Engineering, recommended the award to Jackson Trucking and
<br />Excavating. Mr. Gilot noted their quote was extremely low and asked Mr. Engstrom if he
<br />confirmed with Jackson Trucking that their amount was correct. He asked if Mr. Engstrom had
<br />consulted with Water Works on the award also. Mr. Engstrom stated he had not done either. Mr.
<br />Gilot suggested they wait to award the project. He stated he would rather they confirm that the
<br />contractor didn't make an error on his quote.
<br />AWARD BID — TWO (2), 2013 OR NEWER, TANDEM AXLE. MULTI -USE DUMP
<br />TRUCKS 2013 SEWER DEPARTMENT CAPITAL BUDGET
<br />Mr. Jeffrey Hudak, Central Services, advised the Board that on March 26, 2013, bids were
<br />received and opened for the above referenced vehicles. After reviewing those bids, Mr. Hudak
<br />recommended that the Board award the contract to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder
<br />Hill Truck Sales, 1011 West Sample Street, PO Box 598, South Bend, Indiana 46624, in the
<br />amount of $161,901.00 each for a total of $323,802.00. Therefore, Ms. Roos made a motion that
<br />the recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded as outlined above. Mr. Relos seconded
<br />the motion, which carried.
<br />AWARD BID — TWO (2), 2013 OR NEWER TANDEM AXLE MULTI -USE DUMP
<br />TRUCKS (2013 STREET DEPARTMENT CAPITAL AND LEASE PRINCIPAL AND
<br />INTEREST)
<br />Mr. Jeffrey Hudak, Central Services, advised the Board that on March 26, 2013, bids were
<br />received and opened for the above referenced vehicles. After reviewing those bids, Mr. Hudak
<br />recommended that the Board award the contract to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder
<br />Selking International, 4849 West Western Avenue, South Bend, Indiana 46619, in the amount of
<br />$164,316.43 each for a total of $328,632.86. Therefore, Ms. Roos made a motion that the
<br />recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded as outlined above. Mr. Neal seconded the
<br />motion, which carried.
