Project Approach <br />STEP 1: STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT <br />Understanding the needs of the central traffic signal system's users is of the utmost importance. Proactive communication with <br />groups who hold an interest in the selection and functionality of the system, as well as the general operation of the City's traffic <br />signals will lead to a faster and more streamlined selection of the proposed central system and buy -in from project stakeholders. This <br />may include groups outside of the City who may have a vested interest in the central system selected as part of this project. <br />Groups mayinclude: <br />City of South Bend i, t IDIA <br />o <br />U.S.Department VAACOC <br />of Transportation na Area Council of Governments <br />Federal Highway4 <br />Administration ° Tit; <br />PROJECT ROLE PROJECT ROLE PROJECT ROLE PROJECT ROLE <br />Previous interest in city- INDOT owned signals within <br />System Owner/Operator wide signal modernization South Bend will require Planning Data <br />projects coordination <br />UNITED WIII work with these stakeholders to determine the desired features for the proposed central signal system and signal <br />infrastructure upgrades.
