With an insert installation we typically preserve your existing
interior trim and extension jambs.
• We are in essence installing a slightly smaller window inside your existing window
frame or drywall return. As such, you can expect some glass loss to occur.
• A small piece of new interior trim, called an interior stop, is typically added around the
interior perimeter of the window opening. This piece is typically color matched to the
interior of the new window.
Full Frame Installation:
• A Full Frame Installation typically means we remove the entire existing window, back
down to the original rough opening of the house.
• This is typically done when there is concern that the original window frame may not be
structurally sound, or when glass loss is a major concern.
• A Full Frame Installation typically means we will apply new interior casing and
extension jambs.
How do I know if I’ve purchased an Insert of Full Frame installation?
• In your “Itemized Order Receipt” under “Window Details” you will see a description of
your windows.
• An Insert Installation is indicated by any of the following: “Flat Sill Insert, Sloped Sill
Insert, Insert, or Base Frame” depending on the style of window you have chosen.
• A Full Frame Installation is indicated by either of the following: “Full Frame or EJ
Frame” depending on the style of window you have chosen.
Standard vs. Custom Size Patio Doors:
• Patio doors, whether they are sliding or hinged, come in a variety of standard sizes.
