REGULAR MEETING JANUARY 28, 2025 10 <br />Director of Public Works Horvath noted that they are just getting the license plate and not <br />shooting inside the vehicle. <br />Attorney Schmidt advised that he does anticipate that the red-light law will change though in the <br />next couple years, so certainly seeing it use another municipalities and jurisdictions for speeding. <br />Mr. Miller noted that they have just started using them in work zones. <br />AGREEMENTS/CONTRACTS/PROPOSALS/ADDENDA <br />Attorney Schmidt advised the board about the two water main breaks for items 10. D, and 10 E.: <br />Ratify Emergency Contract with Premium Concrete Services. When there's a water main <br />collapse. Sometimes these come through as emergency orders, but on these two we were able to <br />address the water main collapse on our own with our own team, but the unique nature of the <br />roads being brick, we could not do that work ourselves, so there had to be a second company <br />hired to come in and patch this up. That's why you're seeing just this part of the emergency <br />ratification coming through the board for that particular work so. <br />Mr. Gilot advised that water mains typically burst, they don’t collapse and sewers collapse. <br />Attorney Schmidt advised that that’s probably on the lawyer. <br />PRIVILEGE OF THE FLOOR <br />ADJOURNMENT <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, President Maradik adjourned the <br />meeting at 10:42 a.m. <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />_________________________________ <br />Elizabeth A. Micou, Member <br />REGULAR MEETING JANUARY 28, 2025 <br />The Regular Meeting of the Board of Public Works was convened at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, <br />January 28, 2025, by Board President Elizabeth A. Maradik in the 13th Floor Conference Room of <br />the County-City Building, 227 W. Jefferson Blvd., South Bend, Indiana. The meeting was also <br />streamed live to the public via Microsoft Teams. Board Clerk Theresa Heffner confirmed the <br />presence of Board President Elizabeth A. Maradik, Vice President Joseph Molnar, and Board <br />Members Gary Gilot, Murray Miller, Breana Micou, and Board Attorney Michael Schmidt, with <br />a roll call.
