Technical Approach: Project Summary for Owensboro Independent <br />Schools <br />I. Owensboro Independent Schools, Owensboro, Kentucky <br />ii. CMTA acted as the energy performance contractor for this project. <br />iv. This was a guaranteed energy performance contract. <br />v. Contract Amount: $13,415,520; Term: 20 years <br />vi. This project involved 6 school renovations, 3 auxiliary facility renovations, and 3 <br />minor renovation sites. The scope included: <br />• 762 kW of roof -mounted solar photovoltaic panels installed across <br />seven schools <br />• Over 370,000 square feet of HVAC renovation in the Board of Education Building, Estes Elementary School, Foust <br />Elementary School, Hager Preschool, Maintenance Office, Owensboro High School, Owensboro North Middle <br />School and Sutton Elementary School <br />• Boilers replaced in Owensboro High School and Owensboro North Middle School with high -efficiency condensing <br />boilers <br />• Chillers replaced in Owensboro North Middle School and Foust Elementary School <br />• Over 760,000 square feet of new HVAC controls and integrated HVAC controls <br />• LED lighting replacements and retrofits for over 6,500 fixtures, with new classroom dimming controls <br />• Plumbing replacements and retrofits for 190 fixtures <br />• Envelope improvements, including 13 door replacements <br />• 300 GPS devices installed <br />The types of equipment included: <br />• Solar Modules: 395W Trina Solar Module <br />• Inverter and Rapid Shutdown Device: SolarEdge P960 Power Optimizer <br />• PV Racking: Unirac RM5 — 5 Degree Ballasted Flat Roof System and Solarmount <br />• Balance of System (Disconnects, AC Combiner Panels): SquareD <br />• Communications/Monitoring: SolarEdge Production & Consumption Monitoring <br />vii. This project was 68% funded from guaranteed energy savings - $9,150,000, while 32% - $4,265,000 - was funded by the <br />school district. <br />viii. The contract was signed January 6th, 2020. Construction began in March 2020 as projected and ended in May 2021 as <br />projected. <br />ix. The projected annual utility savings in dollars was $405,144; in energy/water the projected annual electric savings were <br />4,177,511 kWh and 3,828 kW, and the annual natural gas savings were 14,574 therms. Projected water savings were 1,174 <br />kgal. <br />x. The actual and measured annual utility savings for Year 1, 2021, in dollars were $816,390, for an excess savings of $370,732. <br />For the actual savings in energy/water, the annual electric savings were 4,776,685 kWh and 9,997 kW, and the annual natural <br />gas savings were 18,940 therms. The water savings were 1,174 kgal. <br />For Year 4, 2024, the actual annual utility savings were $691,474 in dollars, with an excess savings of $194,023. The actual <br />annual electric savings were 5,711,988 kWh and 9,376 kW. The actual annual gas savings were 9,875 therms.
