Specifically, where the <br />"Custom Hardwood Door Pull" is noted on the plans, only the pulls specified in section 08 71 00 <br />will be provided. <br />10. Existing surfaces to be refinished are assumed to only be soiled by dust or water-soluble soils or <br />stains. Removal of non -water-soluble stains and soils, such as those caused by oils, grease, <br />molten metals, or other contaminants, that affect the appearance or adhesion of new finishes is <br />not included in the Guaranteed Maximum Price. <br />11. No existing structure work is included at the new cooler in Pantry B-214. The food service <br />equipment plans note a floor depression in this area, but neither the demolition nor structural <br />plans show how this depression is to be created. Either structural work or a cooler floor panel <br />with ramp needs to be added to the Guaranteed Maximum Price to provide a functional cooler. <br />12. Where existing finishes are noted to be removed, only one layer of an existing finish is assumed <br />to exist on top of the existing substrate. Removal of multiple layers of flooring, ceilings, or <br />coatings is not included in the Guaranteed Maximum Price. <br />13. Steel to be shop primed will be primed with the fabricator's standard shop primers. These shop <br />primers are intended to only provide temporary and provisional protection against corrosion. <br />The intermediate and top coats specified in section 099113 will be applied directly to the shop <br />primer. Different primers or shop surface preparation methods, such as those recommended by <br />the paint manufacturer or those needed to achieve a different level of paint system performance <br />than that provided by a standard shop primer, are not included in the Guaranteed Maximum <br />Price. <br />14. The HVAC systems noted in the drawings are assumed to be sufficient for the food service <br />equipment and elevator systems. The Guaranteed Maximum Price does not include design <br />checks or upgrades of the HVAC system to meet the HVAC performance requirements listed on <br />the food service equipment plans, elevator details, or elevator specifications or manufacturer's <br />requirements. <br />15. New landscaping or restoration of existing landscaping is not included at the project staging <br />area on the west side of Taylor Street in the Guaranteed Maximum Price. At the completion of <br />the project, the fencing, office trailer, storage area, and construction equipment will be removed, <br />but the grave parking area will be left in place. <br />16. Unsuitable soil removal and replacement is not included in the Guaranteed Maximum Price. This <br />price assumes that all natural soils found at subgrade elevations shown or derived from the <br />requirements of the Guaranteed Maximum Price documents provide the required bearing <br />strength for the new construction those soils will support. <br />17. Relocation of any existing utilities or other subsurface plumbing or electrical lines not specifically <br />noted on the Guaranteed Maximum Price documents is not included in the Guaranteed <br />Maximum Price. Where the plans note to verify the location of existing utilities, the existing <br />location is assumed to not conflict with the new work. <br />18. Temporary electrical circuit breakers and temporary feeds to the existing switchgear that may be <br />required to temporarily power new electrical panels before the switchgear is replaced are not <br />GMP Exhibit 5 Page 37/39 <br />
