Our relationships with trade partners are built on cooperation, mutual respect, and shared goals. We take pride in supporting local economies by keeping construction dollars within the community. We are deeply committed to fostering change by advancing the inclusion of Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs) and Women-Owned Business Enterprises (WBEs), underrepresented partners in the construction industry. To achieve this, we will diligently work with the City of South Bend, Indiana , and local organizations to engage MBE and WBE firms throughout the project lifecycle. Our efforts begin in the prequalification process, where we identify and track diverse trade partners who self-certify as minority-owned or woman-owned businesses. These firms are cataloged in Procore, our project management system, ensuring their participation is prioritized and accurately monitored. Our preconstruction department collaborates with execution teams to develop bid packages and scopes of work that are inclusive and accessible, encouraging diverse labor participation. With over 160 diverse contractors already in our database, CSM Group has a robust network of qualified partners to draw upon for this project. We also actively participate in local resource groups, such as Michigan Diversity Connections (MiDiCo), to expand our network, meet new diverse suppliers, and better understand their capabilities. Through these partnerships, we continuously learn and evolve our practices to create more equitable opportunities in the industry. CSM Group will work closely with the City of South Bend, Indiana , to set and achieve ambitious diversity goals for the Madison Lifestyle District – Phase I Parking Garage project. This includes hosting networking events, collaborating with community organizations, and leveraging our industry connections to ensure MBEs and WBEs are aware of and prepared for bidding opportunities. We will also track and report on diversity participation throughout the project to ensure transparency and accountability. By prioritizing inclusivity and diversity in construction, we aim to create meaningful opportunities for underrepresented businesses, foster innovation, and contribute to a stronger, more equitable local economy.
