Water <br />controlled by flashing and gutters and drained back to the exterior and that cannot <br />damage adjacent materials or finishes is not water leakage. <br />4) Warranty Period: 10 years for translucent glazing material. <br /> <br />B. Products <br /> <br />1. Manufacturers: <br /> <br />a. Manufacturers: Subject to compliance with requirements, provide products by the <br />following: <br />1) Kalwall Corporation <br />2) Kingspan Light + Air <br /> <br />b. Products of other manufacturers will be considered for acceptance provided they equal <br />or exceed the material requirements and functional qualities of the specified product. <br />1) Refer to Section 01250 SUBSTITUTION PROCEDURES for additional <br />requirements. <br /> <br />2. Panel Components: <br /> <br />a. Aluminum: Alloy and temper recommended by manufacturer for use and finish indicated, <br />and as follows: <br />1) Extrusions: 6063-T5 and 6063-T6. <br />2) Width of I-beam shall be no less than 7/16”. <br /> <br />b. Fiberglass Sandwich Panels: 2 3/4" thick with uniformly colored, translucent, <br />fiberglass-reinforced-polymer face sheets permanently attached to a grid core using <br />adhesive. Thermoplastic faces are NOT acceptable. <br />1) Erosion Protection: Manufacturer’s standard. <br />2) Grid Core: Aluminum I-beams of 6063-T5 alloy. <br />3) Grid Core Insulation: Fill panel cores with fiberglass batt. <br />4) Adhesive: Waterproof, heat-and pressure-resin type with tensile bond strength of <br />750 psi when tested according to ASTM C297 after aging according to ASTM <br />D1037, and shear bond strength of 700 psi when tested according to ASTM D1002 <br />after aging according to ASTM 1183. <br />5) Impact Resistance: No failure at impact of 60 ft. x lbf according to free-falling ball <br />impact test using a 3 1/2" diameter, 6.3 lb. ball. <br />6) Color Stability: Not more than 3.0 units Delta E after 60 months when tested <br />according to ASTM D2244. <br /> <br />c. Fasteners and Accessories: Manufacturer’s standard corrosion-resistant, nonstaining, <br />nonbleeding fasteners and accessories; compatible with adjacent materials. <br />1) Nonmovement Joints: Provide slip-joint linings, spacers, and sleeves of material <br />and type recommended by manufacturer. <br /> <br />2) Aluminum-Retaining-Cap or Batten Fasteners: ASTM A193/A 193M, Series 300 <br />stainless-steel screws; type as recommended by manufacturer. <br /> <br />d. Skylight-System Gaskets and Joint Fillers: Manufacturer’s standard permanent gaskets <br />and joint fillers for sliding, compression, and nonmoving joints. <br />
