Quality Assurance: <br /> <br />a. Installer Qualifications: An experienced installer to assume engineering responsibility <br />who has specialized in installing skylights similar to those indicated for this Project, and <br />who is acceptable to manufacturer. <br />1) Engineering Responsibility: preparation of data for skylights, including Shop <br />Drawings, based on engineering analysis of manufacturer’s standard skylights <br />similar to those indicated for this Project. <br /> <br />b. Professional Engineer Qualifications: A professional engineer who is legally qualified to <br />practice in Indiana and who is experienced in providing engineering services of the kind <br />indicated. Engineering services are defined as those performed for installations of <br />skylight panels that are similar to those indicated for this Project in material, design, and <br />extent. <br /> <br />c. Sandwich-Panel Fire-Test-Response Characteristics: Provide fiberglass sandwich <br />panels identical to those tested for the following fire-test-response characteristics per test <br />method indicated below by an independent testing and inspecting agency acceptable to <br />authorities having jurisdiction. <br />1) Plastic Self-Ignition Temperature: 650 deg. F. or more when tested per ASTM <br />D1929. <br />2) Interior-Face Surface Burning: Flame-spread and smoke-developed ratings of not <br />more than 20 and 200, respectively, per ASTM E84. <br />3) Exterior-Face Surface Burning: Class A, burning brand only, per ASTM E108. <br /> <br />6. Product Handling: Store skylight panels on the long edge, several inches above the ground, <br />blocked to prevent warping and under cover. <br /> <br />7. Project Conditions: <br /> <br />a. Field Measurements: Where skylights are indicated to fit to other construction, verify <br />dimensions of other construction by field measurements before fabrication and indicate <br />measurements on Shop Drawings. Coordinate fabrication schedule with construction <br />progress to avoid delaying the Work. <br /> <br />8. Warranty: <br /> <br />a. General Warranty: Special warranty specified in this Article shall not deprive Owner of <br />other rights Owner may have under other provisions of the Contract Documents and shall <br />be in addition to, and run concurrent with, other warranties made by Contractor under <br />requirements of the Contract Documents. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />b. Special Warranty: Written warranty, executed by manufacturer agreeing to repair or <br />replace components of skylights that fail in materials or workmanship within specified <br />warranty period.
