<br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND <br />STUDEBAKER NATIONAL MUSEUM <br />SKYLIGHT REPLACEMENT CONTRACT CLOSEOUT 01700-1 <br />SECTION 01700 - CONTRACT CLOSEOUT <br /> <br />A. General <br /> <br />1. Summary: This Section specifies administrative and procedural requirements for project <br />closeout including, but not limited to, inspection procedures, project record document <br />submittal, operating and maintenance manual submittal, submittal of warranties, final <br />cleaning. <br /> <br />2. Substantial Completion: <br /> <br />a. Preliminary: Before requesting inspection for Certificate of Substantial Completion, <br />complete the following list. In the application for payment that coincides with the <br />date Substantial Completion is claimed, show 100% completion for the portion of the <br />work claimed as substantially complete. Include supporting documents for <br />completion, as indicated in these contract documents and a statement showing an <br />accounting of changes to the contract sum. If 100% completion cannot be shown, <br />include a list of incomplete items, the value of incomplete construction and reasons <br />the work is not complete. Prior to claiming Substantial Completion, all final testing, <br />balancing, start-up and clean-up procedures shall be complete. In addition, the <br />Contractor shall provide the following additional written documentation: <br />1) Provide all final submittals, including warranties, operating and maintenance <br />manuals, workmanship bonds, guarantees, final lien waivers, etc. as called <br />for by other sections of the Specifications. <br />2) Deliver tools, spare parts, spare materials, etc. to the Owner's designated <br />storage area. <br />b. Inspection Procedures: After receipt of the request for inspection, the Architect and <br />Owner's Representatives will inspect the project site and operation of equipment <br />and systems. The above parties will advise the Contractor of deficiencies and <br />unfulfilled requirements. The Architect or Owner's Representative will prepare the <br />Certificate of Substantial Completion following inspection or advise the Contractor of <br />construction that must be completed or corrected before the Certificate will be <br />issued. This inspection will be repeated after a request for re-inspection is made by <br />the Contractor. The work referenced in the Architects Inspection Report shall be <br />completed prior to requesting additional inspections. <br /> <br />3. Final Acceptance: <br /> <br />a. Before requesting final inspection for certification of final acceptance and final <br />payment, the following must be completed; <br />1) Submit the Final Payment Request with final release and supporting <br />documentation, not previously submitted and accepted. Include certificates <br />of insurance for products and completed operations where required. <br />2) Submit an updated final statement accounting for final additional changes to <br />the contract sum. <br />3) Submit a copy of the Architect's Final Inspection with a Contractor's cover <br />letter stating that each item has been completed or otherwise resolved for <br />acceptance. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
