<br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND <br />STUDEBAKER NATIONAL MUSEUM <br />SKYLIGHT REPLACEMENT CONSTRUCTION FACILITIES 01500-1 <br />SECTION 01500 - CONSTRUCTION FACILITIES <br /> <br />A. General <br /> <br />1. Related Documents: Drawings and general provisions of the Contract, including Scope of <br />Work and other Division 1 Specifications apply to this Section. <br /> <br />2. Summary: <br /> <br />a. This Section includes minimum requirements for construction facilities and <br />temporary controls, including temporary utilities, support facilities, and security and <br />protection. The Contractor retains all responsibility for the adequacy of all jobsite <br />safety precautions and programs. <br />1) Except that equipment furnished by subcontractors shall comply with <br />requirements of pertinent safety regulations, such equipment normally <br />furnished by the individual trades in execution of their own portions of the <br />Work are not part of this Section. <br /> <br />3. Requirements: Provide or coordinate use of existing facilities and temporary controls <br />needed for the Work with the Owner. <br /> <br />4. Temporary Utilities: <br /> <br />a. Existing Utilities: exercise care and protect existing services and utilities <br />encountered. In the even of accidental interruption of a service or utility, take prompt <br />remedial action and immediately inform the Owner and related utility company. <br />1) Coordinate work requiring disconnection, reconnection, and interruptions of <br />services and utilities with Owner and any utility company that may be <br />affected. Give Owner 48-hours notice prior to any planned interruption. <br />2) Obtain Owner’s approval of scheduled times before proceeding. <br /> <br />b. Temporary Water: Make connections to Owner’s existing water services to provide <br />water for construction purposes. <br /> <br />c. Temporary Sanitary Facilities: Contractor to provide temporary toilet facilities for use <br />by construction personnel. <br /> <br />d. Temporary Electric Power and Light: The Owner’s electrical energy will be available <br />to the Contractor at no cost to the Contractor, provided that the contractor’s use of <br />Owner’s power causes no inconvenience or disruption to the Owner. The Contractor <br />shall provide an alternate power supply, such as portable generators, if disruption <br />occurs. The Contractor is responsible for temporary power runs from one or more <br />locations to point of use. <br /> <br />5. Delivery, Storage and Handling: Coordinate all routes of delivery, parking arrangements and <br />required permits with the Architect and Owner's Representative before starting construction. <br /> <br />6. Enclosures: Provide and maintain for the duration of construction all enclosures, scaffolds, <br />tarpaulins, canopies, warning signs, steps, platforms, and other temporary construction <br />necessary for proper completion of the Work in compliance with pertinent safety and other <br />regulations.
