Prepare grading plans and landscaping plans to restore the demolished area. 2. Wall Street Improvements a. Reconstruct Wall Street while holding the north curb alignment and minimize elevation change of north curb line in order to minimize impact to trees. b. The new roadway section will include (2) ten foot driving lanes, an 8 foot parking lane on the north side and 22 foot perpendicular parking stalls on the south side, along with curb new curb, tree lawn, and sidewalk on both sides. Terminate new sidewalks at the west side of Ironwood Drive. Reconstruct approaches of the alley on both sides of Wall Street. c. Add parallel parking to the north side of the street and perpendicular parking to the south side. d. Include raised mid block crossing from at the future new entry drive and at the entrance to the parking lot on the east end of Wall Street. e. Include a raised cross walk east of the intersection with Greenlawn Avenue, approximately mid way between Greenlawn Avenue and the new entry drive, and on the west side of the existing parking lot. f. Storage of storm water runoff will be analyzed to determine the preferred alternative while considering effectiveness, visual enhancement to the park, environmental benefits, and cost. Options may include permeable paver parking areas, rain gardens, or other underground drainage systems. The storage system will be designed to detain a minimum 25 year, 24 hour storm event. 3. Greenlawn Avenue a. The new roadway section will include (2) ten foot driving lanes, a 22 foot parking stalls on the east side and 8 foot parallel parking lane on the west side. Curb will be installed on the east side with a minimum width sidewalk adjacent to the curb. The curb on the west side will be retained, if practical. b. Minimize grading on the east side of Greenlawn Avenue. Evaluate impacts of shifting Greenlawn Avenue west or adding a small wall on the east side of the sidewalk or both in order to minimize impacts to the existing trees. c. Provide underground detention system sized to accept storm water from Greenlawn Avenue storing a minimum of 25 year, 25 hour storm event. 4. Traffic Circle at Greenlawn Avenue and Wall Street a. Construct a traffic circle at the intersection of Greenlawn Avenue and Wall Street. Terminate improvements immediately west of the cross walk as practical. Greenlawn Avenue to the west will be paved in the street paving program. b. Design traffic circle to passenger vehicle size with emergency vehicles using the center island to drive through. 5. Path Through the Park a. The proposed path will be 12 foot wide crushed aggregate pavement from the zoo entrance to the split in the sidewalk and 8 foot wide asphalt pavement from
