MRO: <br />Address <br />interpret positive test results from the laboratory. The MRO willalso <br />review the chain of custody to ensure that it is sufficient and complete <br />on its face and may request quantification of the test results from the <br />lab. ln addition, the MRO will conduct an administrative review of all <br />negative test results prior to their transmission to Visu-Sewer. Before a final decision to <br />verify a positive test result is made, the MRO will therefore conduct a <br />medical interview with the individual, whether in person or over the <br />telephone, and give him/her the opportunity to discuss the positive test <br />result. The MRO may also review the individual's medical history and <br />any other relevant biomedical factors, as well as medical records that <br />may relate to a lawfully prescribed medication. Results of urine tests <br />not obtained or processed in accordance with this procedure will not <br />be considered. <br />ln the event of a confirmed positive test result, the MRO will contact <br />the individual directly, on a confidential basis, to determine whether the <br />employee wishes to discuss the test result. A staff person under the <br />MRO's supervision may make the initial contact and a medically <br />licensed or certified staff person may gather information from the <br />employee. Except as provided below, the MRO will talk directly with <br />the employee before verifying a test as positive. <br />lf, after making and documenting all reasonable efforts to contact the <br />individual, the MRO is unable to reach the individual directly, the MRO <br />will advise Visu-Sewer that he/she has made all reasonable efforts to <br />contact the driver. Within 24 hours or prior to dispatching the driver, <br />Visu-Sewer will make reasonable efforts to contact the driver and <br />request him/her to contact and discuss the results of the drug test with <br />the MRO, regardless of that driver's employment status at the time. <br />Visu-Sewer will then immediately notify the MRO that the driver has <br />been advised to contact him/her within 24 hours. lf this notification <br />procedure becomes necessary, Visu-Sewer will ensure, to the <br />maximum extent practicable that the requirement that the employee <br />contact the MRO is held in confidence. <br />lf, after making all reasonable efforts Visu-Sewer is still unable to <br />contact the employee, it will terminate the employee from employment.
