REGULAR MEETING <br />JANUARY 10, 2000 <br />WHEREAS, Council Member Coleman will long beremembered for embellishing the duties <br />of the Council President by establishing -a series of working meetings over dinner and formulating <br />many field trip's to places throughout the city, so that the Council could see new ventures first hand <br />and have the opportunity to inquire about such projects and new ventures; and <br />WHEREAS, the Common Council THANKS Council Member Coleman for his dedication <br />and hard -work as its Council President for the past two (2) years. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, as follows: <br />SECTION I. On behalf of all of the residents of the City of South Bend, Indiana, the <br />Common Council thanks and coinnends COUNCIL MEMBER SEAN COLEMAN for his two (2) <br />years of dedicated service as Council President. <br />SECTION II. The Common Council wishes Sean continued success and the very best of the <br />new year with his wife, Kate, and his daughter, Maggie, who did an excellent job of officially <br />swearing in her father for another four (4) year term as Council Member at Large for the City of <br />South Bend; Indiana. <br />SECTION III. Luecke, Mayor <br />Council President Pfeifer made the presentation for this Resolution by reading it in its entirety and <br />presenting it to Councilmember Coleman along with the President's gavel which had been inscribed. <br />Councilmembers Kelly, Ujdak and Pfeifer made brief comments concerning Councilmember <br />Coleman's tenure as Council President and Cotmeilmember Coleman thanked members of the <br />Council. Accordingly, Councilmember Kelly thdde a motion to adopt this Resolution. <br />Councilmember King seconded the motion which carried by acclamation. <br />RESOLVE INTO`THE COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE <br />At 7:16 p.m. Councilmember Kelly made a motion to resolve into the Committee of the Whole. <br />Councilmember Varner seconded the motion which carried by a voice vote of eight (8) ayes. <br />Chairman Uj dak presiding. <br />BILL NO. 107 -99 A BILL TO VACATE THE FOLLOWING DESCRIBED <br />PROPERTY: THE ALLEY TO BE VACATED IS <br />DESCRIBED AS THE NOR'T'H /SOUTH ALLEY <br />BETWEEN LAFAYETTE AND MAIN STREET FROM <br />THE SOUTH RIGHT -OF -WAY OF THE VACATED <br />EAST /WEST ALLEY TO A POINT WHICH IS 37.5 FEET <br />SOUTH OF THE SOUTH RIGHT -OF -WAY OF THE <br />VACATED EAST /WEST ALLEY TO THE SOUTH END <br />1 <br />1 <br />1 <br />
