We achieve this through implementation plans, posting signs
before and during construction, and advance notice of work. Locally, Ameresco will have a project manager
oversee all project activity as well as on-site construction managers, as needed, to oversee specific activities. Our
project manager will be onsite and in communication with the project engineers, subcontractors and involved staff
during the construction phases of this project and to ensure building access and appropriate times. This process
ensures that we can meet the challenges of large, multi-stakeholder projects in occupied spaces.
Risk Mitigation Strategies |
Ameresco’s projects are specifically designed to mitigate client risk. In fact, with established performance
assurances backed by long-term financial solvency and longevity, clients are inherently sheltered from the risks
that are often associated with capital improvement projects. Additional risk mitigation strategies include:
• Industry-leading commitment to safety
• Proven methodologies for subcontractor selection and management to ensure subcontractors perform to
the same level of quality and accountability as direct Ameresco employees
• Project scheduling designed to minimize any interruptions to normal business operations
Ameresco will work with the City to provide financial details in a way that meets the transparency you are looking
for in both budgeting and expenditures. For example, we can provide certified payroll as well as clearly show the
amounts paid to minority and women owned firms, meeting or exceed the diversity requirements.
These strategies are supported by a Quality Assurance Plan established to recognize, understand, and rectify any
issues of concern that arise during the contract term.
Quality Control | Ensuring Quality Performance
Ameresco’s 24-year track record building, operating, and maintaining varied renewable energy and energy
efficiency projects attests to the integrity of our Quality Control procedures. The purpose of Ameresco’s
Quality Control Plan (QCP) is three-fold:
• Assure that the project meets all the customer-specific requirements as defined in the Statement of
Work and other contract documents.
• Assure that we comply with all federal, state, interstate, local, and facility-specific laws, codes, and
regulations for the design, construction, and operation and maintenance of the proposed systems
including local utilities, as necessary.
• Ensure that the project reliably delivers the projected savings in a consistently safe and reliable
manner, and in accordance with all environmental and other permitting requirements. System
performance is determined by (a) the quality of the equipment and systems specified and designed, (b)
their proper installation, and (c) the manner in which such equipment and systems are operated and
maintained. Ameresco assures the quality of our installation by maintaining control over all three of these
key aspects of system performance, which includes providing proper training.
Training | Customized to the Measure
All installed equipment must be properly maintained to perform efficiently and reliably. Ameresco develops a
customized and comprehensive training program for each project to provide a smooth transition of ownership
after construction. People learn in different ways. For this reason, training involves on-site, classroom, visual, and
applied learning. Training sessions will be recorded to provide future reference and will include a review of the
overall installation and performance history so that everyone understands the benefits of the program. Facilities
personnel will be provided a reference manual which includes O&M manuals, drawings, and equipment literature.
