SECTION III. In the event that a Local Option Income Tax <br />becomes effective and tax income from that Local Option Income Tax <br />is received by the City of South Bend in its general fund in 1986, <br />the annual pay for the Officers and other sworn members of the <br />South Bend Fire Department for the calendar year 1986 shall be as <br />follows rather than as listed in Section II, above: <br />RANK 1986 WITH LOCAL <br />OPTION TAX <br />Fire Chief <br />32,162 <br />Assistant <br />Chiefs <br />29,642 <br />Battalion <br />Chiefs <br />26,282 <br />Captains <br />22,548 <br />Specialists <br />22,898 <br />Engineers <br />10 + years <br />21,848 <br />Engineers <br />9 -10 <br />21,598 <br />Engineers <br />8 -9 <br />21,348 <br />Engineers <br />7 -8 <br />21,098 <br />Engineers <br />6 -7 <br />20,848 <br />Engineers <br />5 -6 <br />20,598 <br />Engineers <br />3 -5 <br />20,348 <br />Firefighter <br />1st Class <br />18,798 <br />Firefighters <br />16,798 <br />SECTION IV. Additional pay for Extra Duty and Special <br />Performance. <br />(a) For recall or overtime pay, time and one half (1/2). <br />(b) For regularly assigned drivers of fire trucks and other <br />heavy equipment, the tillerman, the personnel assigned to drive <br />ambulances on regular or rotation basis, Two Hundred and Fifty <br />Dollars ($250.00) per year. <br />(c) For persons certified by the State of Indiana as a <br />certified Emergency Medical Technician, Two Hundred and Fifty <br />Dollars ($250.00) per year. <br />(d) For regularly assigned scuba divers, Two Hundred and <br />Fifty Dollars ($250.00) per year. <br />(e) Sworn members performing paramedic duties will be paid at <br />a level which is a maximum of Eight Hundred Dollars ($800.00) over <br />the base pay for their rank. <br />(f) Each sworn member shall receive Seven Hundred and <br />Forty -Four Dollars ($744.00) Holiday pay, gross for the year. Such <br />Holiday pay shall be paid in two (2) equal installments of Three <br />Hundred and Seventy -Two Dollars ($372.00) gross each, payable by <br />the 15th day of June and the 15th day of December. The Holiday pay <br />shall be paid to each sworn member regardless of whether the <br />holiday is worked. <br />SECTION V.
