(d) New sworn members hired after December 31, 1986, and working <br /> 24-hour shifts shall have three (3) sick days each calendar year and shall <br /> be able to accumulate a maximum of twenty-one (21) paid sick days in a sick <br /> leave bank. <br /> (e) If a sick leave buy-back program is appproved by the F.O.P. , the <br /> program shall be made available to the sworn members of the Fire Department <br /> with the specifics as to 24-hour personnel being mutually worked out between <br /> the parties. <br /> (f) The above terms shall be subject to approval by the Board of Public <br /> Safety through the Board's adoption of a proper Resolution. <br /> SECTION IX. FLSA MATTERS AND FITNESS AND WELLNESS PROGRAM <br /> An understanding has been reached between the City and the South Bend <br /> Fire Fighters Association Local No. 362 regarding FLSA Matters and a Fitness <br /> and Wellness Program, specific details of which shall be set forth in a <br /> separate agreement which will remain in effect until at least December 31, <br /> 1988. <br /> SECTION X. SERVICE YEAR FOR PAY AND BENEFITS ADDRESSED IN <br /> ORDINANCE <br /> The first service year for a member of the Fire Department commences <br /> upon upon his being sworn in before the Board of Safety as a member of that <br /> department. His second service year shall begin on the next succeeding <br /> first day of January and service years shall continue to increase until the <br /> member attains the maximum salary for the particular rank he may hold. <br /> SECTION XI.
