40SOUTH BEND, INDIANA GSC
SAFETY
Safety First. Always. Every Day.
Our Safety pledge is simple: everyone goes home in the same condition they came to work. What drives this goal is Kokosing’s commitment to people. Our commitment applies to everyone who crosses into our work zone. For you and your staff, this means we establish safe means of egress to the tanks and equipment that your staff need to access to do their jobs; we establish and provide the PPE they need to cross through our zones; and we coordinate with you well in advance of any change or disruption to that access.
Our commitment to safety first permeates the foundation of each project through:
1. The Scope: includes the tasks to establish safe work environments
2. The Schedule: incorporates the time to establish those environments prior to the start of the actual work
3. The Budget: allocates the money to fund those environments
Our safety procedures apply uniformly to our project regardless of delivery method. Each project has an assigned safety professional whose primary job is to educate the staff on the merits and expectations of safe working and to audit the site. When new risks arise, as they did with COVID, changes to work expectations are developed and managed through Safety.
Together, everyone goes home as safe and healthy as they came to work that day. That’s the
Kokosing pledge.
QUALITY
It should go without saying that Quality is a priority of every Contractor on every job. Yet
pressures of budget and schedule can create a temptation for quality to become a secondary
consideration. To guarantee this never happens on a Kokosing project, we have invested in our
people, our projects, and our clients by implementing a Quality Management System (QMS) that
aligns with ISO-9001 standards for quality. Using QMS means the best of how we do things is
incorporated into every project, by every person, every step of the way. Every Kokosing project
takes advantage of advances, efficacies, and improvements to processes developed elsewhere
within the company. QMS workflows, work plans, and work instructions provide the framework
for the engineering, management, and administrative processes that control a job, ensuring
quality is stamped into every Kokosing project.
Having a culture that values safety and quality above all else empowers and encourages our
employees at every level to pay attention to details, make the right decisions, and put the Owner
first.
“KOKOSING INDUSTRIAL BELIEVES THAT NO JOB OR NO TASK IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN
THE HEALTH AND SAFETY OF ITS EMPLOYEES. WE ACKNOWLEDGE THE IMPORTANCE OF
CREATING A POSITIVE SAFETY CULTURE THROUGH EMPLOYEE INVOLVEMENT AND EFFECTIVE
POLICIES AND PROCEDURES.” -BRIAN BURGETT, PRESIDENT OF KOKOSING, INC., RETIRED
