Engineer’s services under the Study and Report Phase will be considered complete on the date when
the revised Report and any other deliverables have been delivered to Owner.
A1.02 Topographic Survey and Conceptual Layout Phase
A. Concurrently with the preparation of the traffic signal warrant, and upon written authorization from
the Owner, Engineer shall:
1. Provide necessary field and topographic survey for design purposed including the following:
a. Establish horizontal and vertical control throughout the project limits. Horizontal control
will be based on the Indiana Coordinate System of 1983, East zone (NAD83). Vertical
control will be based on the North American Vertical Datum of 1988 (NAVD88).
b. Provide topographic mapping at the Angela Boulevard intersections of Eddy Street and
Joyce Drive / Duey Street, within the limits indicated in red on the attached Exhibit A.1.
The width of the survey corridor will be the apparent right-of-way. The mapping will
include features such as curbs, sidewalks, traffic poles, outline of landscape areas, outline
of wooded areas, trees over 6” in diameter, etc. The existing curb ramp at Angela
Boulverd and SR 933 will be picked up to verify sidewalk connection grades.
c. Locate and provide rim elevations for castings (manholes, catch basins and curb inlets)
within the survey limits, including those just beyond the curb line.
d. Detail sanitary and storm structures to determine invert elevations, flow direction, type
and size of pipes.
e. Known subsurface utilities will be depicted based on the field survey of surface markings
provided by Indiana 811.
f. For the project limits along Angela Boulevard from SR 933 to Twcykenham Drive, DLZ
will use Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) to collect georeferenced, nadir and oblique
aerial imagery. The aerial photography will be used to create rectified ortho-images, at
three-inch pixel resolution. See Exhibit A.2 for aerial photography limits.
g. Create an aerial and topographic base map from the survey data.
h. Right of way/property lines will be based on available field investigation and recorded
subdivision plats. Apparent right of way will be shown for any areas lying outside of a
