Architect approved equal required prior to bid <br /> <br />PART 3 - EXECUTION <br /> <br />3.01 SURFACE CONDITIONS: <br /> <br />A. Inspections: <br /> <br />1. Prior to all work of this Section, carefully inspect the installed work of all other trades <br />and verify that all such work is complete to the point where this installation may <br />properly commence. <br /> <br />2. Verify that all windows may be installed in accordance with all pertinent codes and <br />regulations, the original design, and the referenced standards. <br /> <br />B. Discrepancies: Do not proceed with installations in areas of discrepancy until all such <br />discrepancies have been fully resolved. Immediately notify the Architect in writing of all <br />discrepancies discovered. <br /> <br />3.02 INSTALLATION: <br /> <br />A. Set window units plumb, level, and true to line, without warp or rack of frames or sash. <br />Provide proper support and anchor securely in place. <br /> <br /> 1. Separate aluminum and other corrodible surfaces from sources of corrosion or <br />electrolytic action at points of contact with dissimilar materials in compliance with <br />AAMA 101, “Dissimilar Materials” section. <br /> <br />2. Provide all required clips, anchors, and fastenings as required by job conditions to <br />secure to adjacent construction and/or steel structure. <br /> <br />3. Install all exterior extensions, panning and trim with clean crisp hairline joints. Head <br />to jamb joints shall be miter appearance with the jamb extending behind the head <br />piece. Miter cut and cope/back cut the head section for a tight joint. Jamb to sill <br />joints shall be vertical. Back seal all exterior panning and trim joints before installing <br />the window unit where practical. Interior trim joints shall be closed miter cuts at the <br />head-to-jamb, and tight horizontal joints at jamb-to-sill. <br /> <br />B. Set sill members and other window components in a bed of sealant, or on a gasket to provide <br />a weathertight construction. Coordinate the window installation with wall flashing and other <br />components of the work. <br />
