<br />08-51-00 - 8 ALUMINUM WINDOWS – SERVICE BUILDING 08-51-00 - 8 <br /> 1. All weather-strip shall be Santoprene® or equal. <br /> <br /> D. Glass: <br /> <br /> 1. Windows are to be factory glazed consisting of 1” thick insulated glass with a <br />center of glass U-Factor of .29 constructed as follows: <br /> <br /> a. Exterior lite: ¼” thick, Bronze color, Tempered glass <br /> <br /> b. Air space: ½” inch air filled. <br /> <br /> c. Interior lite: ¼” thick, clear color, Tempered glass with a surface <br /> coating of Low-E on the number 3 surface. <br /> <br /> E. Thermal Barrier: <br /> <br /> 1. All exterior aluminum shall be separated from interior aluminum by a rigid, <br /> structural thermal barrier. For purposes of this specification, a structural thermal <br /> barrier is defined as a system that shall transfer shear during bending and, <br /> therefore, promote composite action between the exterior and interior extrusions. <br /> <br /> 2. The thermal barrier shall be thermal struts, consisting of glass reinforced <br /> polyamide nylon, mechanically crimped in raceways extruded in the exterior and <br /> interior extrusions. <br /> <br /> 3. Poured and debridged urethane thermal barriers shall not be permitted unless a <br /> specific window unit is specified. <br /> <br />F. Exterior Frame Extensions, Panning and Trim : <br /> <br />1. Exterior extensions, panning and trim components shall be extruded from prime billet <br />6063-T5/T6 alloy aluminum. Profiles shall match that shown on the Drawings. <br /> <br />2. The finish system and color shall match the window frame and sash. <br /> <br />G. Interior Trim: <br /> <br />1. Trim shall be extruded from prime billet 6063-T5 aluminum alloy. <br /> <br />2. Finish shall match window frame and sash. <br /> <br />H. Insect Screens: <br /> <br />1. Tubular extruded aluminum frames with corner keyed reinforcement. <br /> <br />2. Aluminum cloth with 18 X 16 mesh. Color as selected by architect. <br /> <br />3. Vertical sliding full width wickets. <br /> <br />I. Sill Flashing/ Sill Starter: <br /> <br />1. Extruded aluminum prime billet 6063-T5/T6 alloy aluminum sheet 3003 H14. <br /> <br />a. Profiles shall match those shown/noted on the Drawings and for the <br />conditions of the openings. <br /> <br />2. The finish system and color shall match the window frame and sash.
