<br />08-51-00 - 7 ALUMINUM WINDOWS – SERVICE BUILDING 08-51-00 - 7 <br />a. Pigmented Organic: The pigmented organic finishes on exposed surfaces of <br />the windows and component parts are certified as complying fully with <br />requirements of AAMA 2605 for pigmented organic coating and fully <br />warranted against chipping, peeling, cracking or blistering for a period of five <br />(5) years from date of substantial completion. Warrant finishes meeting AAMA <br />2605 against fading beyond AAMA standards. <br /> <br /> 3. Insulated Glass: Submit a written warranty, executed by the glass manufacturer, that <br />guarantees insulated glass, purchased and factory glazed by the window <br />manufacturer, against failure of hermetic seal for ten (10) years. The window <br />manufacturer’s Warranty will guarantee to provide insulated glass to replace failed <br />units for the entire warranty term. <br /> <br />4. Terms: The Warranty must be direct from the manufacturer to the Owner. This <br />warranty cannot be pro-rated. A “pass-through” warranty will not be accepted. A <br />copy of the manufacturer’s Warranty must be included in the submittal package. <br />The fully executed warranty shall be submitted to the Owner at Substantial <br />Completion of the Project and take effect beginning that date. <br /> <br />1.08 MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTION: <br /> <br />A. The window Contractor shall schedule through the Architect a maintenance training session <br />for the building Owner’s maintenance and designated staff after Substantial Completion of <br />this Project. This session shall be conducted by the window manufacturer’s trained technical <br />staff. The session shall include care, hardware components and adjustments, construction of <br />the unit(s), etc. as covered by the manufacturer’s technical personnel. <br /> <br />PART 2 - PRODUCTS <br /> <br />2.01 GENERAL DESCRIPTION: <br /> <br />A. The window units vary in size, configuration, operation and type. The Drawings define size, <br />configuration and operation. <br /> <br />B. The Project Basis of Design and Specification is: <br /> <br />1. Windows: EFCO 550-I aluminum architectural window <br /> <br />2. Sun Shade Device: EFCO E-Shade <br /> <br />2.02 MATERIALS: <br /> <br />A. Aluminum: <br /> <br />1. Extruded aluminum shall be 6063-T5 alloy and temper complying with ASTM B211. <br /> <br />B. Hardware: <br /> <br /> 1. Locking handles shall be cam type and manufactured from a white bronze alloy <br /> with a US25D brushed finish. <br /> <br /> 2. Operating Hardware <br /> <br /> a. Concealed 4-bar, stainless steel arms. <br /> <br /> C. Weather-Strip: <br />
