Version 6-8-2017 <br />26 <br />N.Utility Coordination <br />The CONSULTANT shall perform utility coordination services in accordance with Indiana Design <br />Manual, Chapter 104 (“IDM”) and 105 IAC 13. If a conflict exists between the IDM and any other <br />INDOT training, the IDM shall govern. <br />1.The CONSULTANT shall have an INDOT Certified Utility Coordinator as part of the project team <br />and responsible for the primary utility coordination duties. <br />2.The CONSULTANT will be responsible for initial utility identification, sending the letters <br />required by the IDM, coordinating with the utility and design team throughout the project, <br />obtaining utility work plans, and completing the utility coordination certification and special <br />provision 107-R-169. <br />3.The CONSULTANT’s utility coordination services under this section do not include contractor <br />constructability or safety reviews. The CONSULTANT will notify the utility if, in the process of <br />performing its utility coordination services, it becomes aware of any existing utilities that it <br />believes create a Constructability Conflict, as described in IDM Section 104-3.05(01). <br />O.Geotechnical Investigation <br />The CONSULTANT shall make or cause to be made, a complete roadway geotechnical investigation <br />to be in accordance with the Geotechnical Manual, INDOT Materials and Tests Division, 2016 edition, <br />of which a copy is on file with the Indiana Department of Transportation and same is incorporated herein <br />by reference and is made a part hereof. The Geotechnical Investigation shall include up to up to 7 <br />roadway borings to a depth of 15 feet and up to 2 borings to a depth of 25 feet for proposed traffic <br />signals. Location of the borings are to be determined. <br />1.An allowance of $29,600.00 has been included for the CONSULTANT and/or <br />SUBCONSULTANT to perform Geotechnical Investigation services, as directed and described <br />below. <br />2.Prior to making the borings, the CONSULTANT shall submit boring specifications and boring <br />locations and sketches for concurrence by the LPA. Borings shall extend sufficiently in depth to <br />obtain characteristic data for the proper design of the pavement, storm sewer, and traffic signals. <br />The CONSULTANT shall backfill or cause to be backfilled the bore holes in accordance with <br />Aquifer Protection Guidelines, dated October 30, 1996. A copy of the document is on file with <br />the Indiana Department of Transportation, Division of Materials and Tests, Geotechnical Section. <br />P.Right of Way Engineering Services <br />Upon determination of the required permanent and temporary right of way required, the <br />CONSULTANT shall perform right of way engineering services, to include: <br />1.Order title abstracting for each parcel during the field survey and perform preliminary right of way <br />engineering to determine existing property lines and right of way. <br />2.Obtain update to title at the time of final right of way engineering, if required. <br />3.Prepare a legal description for each parcel of right of way to be acquired. <br />4.Prepare a plat for each parcel of permanent right of way to be acquired. <br />5.Prepare Final Right of Way Plans as required by the current INDOT Right of Way Engineering <br />Manual. <br />6.Upload Right of Way engineering documents to ERMS and ITAP Land Records System (LRS).
