Prevailing Specifications: INDOT 2022 Standard Specifications Section 402, 406 <br />B. Additions: <br />1. The Contractor shall furnish and place in operation, an Phosphate injection and control panel <br />system based on product by Zinkan Enterprises, Inc., RT-15X1-INJ-1 Chemical Pump with <br />Programmable Timer M-500, or by pre-approved manufacturer prior to bid release. <br />2. The M-500 Phosphate shall be connected to the supply water for the injection of the M -500 with a <br />a ½” NPT Nipple. <br />3. The controller, chemical feed pump and manifold , if required, shall be mounted on a 20” x 24” x <br />5/8” plywood painted white. The controller runs off of a 110 volt outlet. <br />4. The Contractor and equipment installer shall coordinate with the Water Softener System <br />provider/installer to synchronize both pieces of equipment and controllers. <br />5. Any required junction boxes required for this equipment shall be #190851, Junction Box, NEMA 4x, <br />2 strain, reliefs, 7 terminal blk. <br /> <br />6. Measurement and Payment <br /> <br />a. Payment for all costs associated with the Phosphate Injection System and Control Panel, <br />including the cost of all materials, equipment, tools, labor, transportation, operations, and all <br />other incidentals, shall be paid for on a lump sum basis under the pay item: <br /> <br />PHOSPHATE INJECTION SYSTEM AND CONTROL PANEL….….….….….….….…..….….LS <br />XXV. HOT MIX ASPHALT PAVEMENT <br />A. Prevailing Specifications: INDOT 2022 Standard Specifications Section 402, 406 <br />B. Additions: <br />1. The Contractor shall submit a job mix formula for approval five (5) working days prior to any mix <br />placed. The Contractor will not be allowed to proceed with the placement of asphalt without an <br />approved job mix formula. The Contractor shall notify the City forty eight (48) hours prior to placing <br />any asphalt. Mixed placed without notification will be subject to no payment to the Contractor. <br /> <br />2. The Contractor shall perform smoothness tests for all base, intermediate, and surface pavements <br />in accordance with 2018 INDOT Standard Specification Section 402.18 if requested by the Owner. <br />The test shall be done in the presence of a city representative. The Con tractor shall straight edge <br />each course prior to the placement of the next course. <br /> <br />3. Damages will be assessed if the Contractor varies from the above specification. <br /> <br />4. No recycled asphalt pavement (RAP) or recycled asphalt shingles (RAS) or native grave for coarse <br />aggregate will be allowed in the HMA surface mixture. All pavement shall be INDOT Type A HMA. <br />HMA design and testing shall be in accordance with INDOT Standard Specification Section 402. <br />The total content of recycled material, both RAP and RAS, sha ll be limited to 25% of the binder <br />replacement. <br /> <br />5. Limestone aggregate will be the only coarse aggregate allowed in the HMA Surface mix. The binder <br />in the HMA surface mix shall be PG70-22P. <br /> <br />6. Asphalt for tack shall be used between each lift of HMA, unless prior approval by the Engineer is <br />obtained. The cost of the tack coat will not be paid for directly, but shall be included in the cost of <br />other HMA items. <br /> <br />7. HMA Surface, Intermediate, and Base will be paid for by the accepted tons of asphalt placed aT <br />the contract unit prices as set forth in the proposal.
