Payment for all costs associated Existing Backflow Preventer, Remove and Adjust, including <br />the cost of all materials, equipment, fittings, ball valved, line adjustments, tools, labor, <br />transportation, operations, and all other incidentals, shall be paid for on a Lump Sum basis for <br />under the pay item: <br /> <br />EXISTING BACKFLOW PREVENTER, REMOVE AND ADJUST.….….….….….….….….….….LS <br />XVI. TEMPORARY EROSION CONTROL MEASURES <br />A. Prevailing Specifications: 2022, INDOT Standard Specifications Section 205 <br />B. Additions: <br />1. The Contractor shall be responsible for adhering to the City of South Bend specifications and <br />requirements regarding erosion and sedimentation control. Temporary Erosion Control shall <br />include the cost implementation of the plan and maintenance of the erosion control elements. <br />Should the Contractor fail to comply with the requirements of the Erosion Control Plan, or fail to <br />adequately implement or maintain the elements of the plan, the Contractor shall be solely <br />responsible for fines, imprisonment or any other penalties lawfully imposed. <br />2. Erosion control measures shall be installed in accordance with current City of South Bend Standard <br />Specifications and the Indiana Stormwater Quality Manual. <br />3. The Contractor shall be responsible for erosion control measures and keeping the sedimentation <br />on site. Measures include but are not limited to installing silt fence where the ground slopes away <br />from the project site, installing inlet protection as necessary to keep sediment out of inlets during <br />construction, installing gravel pads, installing concrete washout or other necessary measures to <br />prevent tracking sediment offsite. <br />4. The contractor shall vegetate all areas that lay bare for more than fourteen (14) days with temporary <br />seeding. The contractor shall inspect all erosion control measures a minimum of once per week, <br />and within 24 hours after every rainfall event of ½” or more. The Contractor shall take corrective <br />measures as necessary and maintain all temporary erosion control measures. <br />5. Measurement and Payment <br /> <br />a. Payment for all erosion control measures for all parts not specifically paid for in ot her items <br />shall be included in the lump sum cost of Temporary Erosion Control. All maintenance and <br />monitoring of erosion control measures will not be paid for separately, but shall be included in <br />the cost of the contract item Temporary Erosion Control. <br /> <br />TEMPORARY EROSION CONTROL………………………………..…………………..LS <br /> <br />b.
